- I went to Rochester, New York to see the 2024 total solar eclipse. As the moon gracefully obscured the sun and showed the sun's corona, casting an enchanting shadow across the landscape, I... didn't see anything cause it was cloudy. Anyway, the Great North American Eclipse of April 8, 2024, was fun!

I've seen a couple of partials and one almost totality in 1999 when I was a kid. The light changes really are so amazing to experience in person.
My personal favourites are the shadows cast through the leaves of trees. Every little gap actually works like a tiny pinhole camera, which we normally don't notice because the sun is a circle.
But when the moon is covering a chunk of it, you get thousands of these projections of the sun on the ground with a chunk missing.
Kid me thought that was the coolest thing ever, adult me still does.
Sad that you didn't get to see that or any of the other weird effects. Though day turning to night is still the big one to experience ofc.
If I ever decided to fly somewhere to see totality, I'd probably consider a flight through one just to be sure to be above the clouds.
An off shore cruise with a high likelihood of clouds sticking to the mainland could work too.
My first thought was Tenerife though, on top of the Teide volcano you're actually above the cloud layer most of the year.
Apparently 2026 and 2027 will have near totalities there, 2026 being the better timed one I believe. Although there might ofc be much better mountains along it's path through spain.
Cool!
Wow!!…It’s amazing !!
What a wonderful experience!! Very nice video, nice to see you vlogging.
Slept through it in Kansas.
Saw it in Texas 🌑
My new PFP proves that I saw the eclipse!!! Seriously, this is my photo!!! I took it and did not steal it.
I’m sorry to hear that, my friend.
