that was an infamous play for Merriweather. He was mocked and humiliated. It gave him a new outlook. It caused him to become a great cornerback in the future, including the NFL.
Miami obviously had more talent but damn WVU came to play this game. Great running, hard hits on defense. So close but it was a good sign of things to come.
As good Miami was in 2093, they got exposed and their recruiting tank afterwards. Letting teams like Clemson, Alabama and Florida and Florida state take from their backyard
That 2003 team was so frustrating to watch. They had all the talent in the world (Gore, Wilfork, Taylor, Meriweather, Winslow, DJ Williams, etc...), but were always struggling.
