I love this idea. Would it be a good idea to drill any holes in the rubber to allow water to drain out? I wondered if having them on there would cause any rust to form.
The holes also allow you to attach zip ties as added security to keep the shoes from falling off if you are traveling at greater speeds. The bottom of the show has grooves for the zip tie to fit into.

The rubber shoes already have drain holes and a channel to route the water out. I plan on taking mine off periodically and checking for any rust.
