It is stunning scenery. Love watching your adventures. I haven't been to Scotland yet. That water looked very cold. Glad you weren't on the boat alone doing that, just in case. Good that you got on so well with your crew member.
Loving your videos Dave. These are our home waters as we sail out of Largs. Wish we had known you were up earlier in season...next time for sure and keep up the excellent video content 👍🏻
A rope cutter on prop should be your next purchase. Also those small floating air compressors seem fairly good for that situation . Love that area done it all in motorhome . look great from the water.
I think they could be dangerous ,. Just for a meter or two max would be handy for boat maintenance / emergency . Would not go any deeper unless you qualified in scuba . See a few youtube sailing channels using them.
There are better stouts than Guinness these days .. you really should try some Dave! Stunning scenery .. those crepes that Louisa made looked yummy ! Super video .. and yes Jess is adorable 🐾❤️🐾
Well Dave good on you for taking a hitchhiker. I've got this idea in my head it's safer to do that in Europe than in the States... But even still. Also you got to go over the side for the first time 🤣. I was freezing for you 🤣. Miss the busses but I really enjoy your new adventures... CHEERS
Beautiful scenery but nowhere near enough sailing! You're a brave man for taking a complete stranger onboard, however, pleased for you it all worked out in the end! Talking of "brave", you're taking somewhat of a risk diving down in such cold water without a wetsuit! Please add a wetsuit to your shopping list!
Hi Dave. Great videos. I used to live on the North Wales coast but have retired to Lisbon. Can I ask you if you took any sailing and navigation courses and if so where. I am contemplating taking up sailing in Portugal but would rather do a RYA course than a Portuguese one. Thanks
Hi Dave, yes I did Comp Crew in Southampton and then Day Skipper in North Wales. You should be able to find a RYA affiliated Sailing School in Portugal, there's plenty around the Med.
When on the west coast of scotland, always worth having a bottle of Avon Skin So Soft - the most effective midge repellent in existence - makes you smell like an old lady but it keeps the little buggers at bay
Absolutely beautiful, no better place in the British Isles to go boating.

Hi Martin, Thanks for the tip I have seen these and was tempted to buy one, but reading the reviews some were saying they're dangerous.

Definitely get a rope cutter!!!
Glad you enjoyed your stay in Arrochar. The ‘posh hotel’ you spotted at Ardgartan on Loch Long is a coaching hotel owned by ‘Lochs & Glens’.
Thanks for the info, looking forward to another visit later in the year. 👍

I’ve tried a few and not found one better. Which ones do you find better?
Thanks David, always happy to try different stouts, but Ive not found one yet that's better than Guinness. Can you recommend any?

Thanks David. Planning to do a Routemaster4Hire update in the next few weeks so keep an eye on the other channel.
Get a little cold water swim in every day you’re up there and you’ll soon be used to it 😂.
Ever think a motorboat might have been a better investment? It seems like you have motored more miles than you have sailed. 😁
So far but there is plenty of sailing coming up.

Yes it's on my Christmas list! 👍

A young girl on her own, hitchhiking is not a good idea. She seems a nice girl and i hope she stays safe. Kind of you to take her on board.
Love the way she called him the old man! 😂😂
@@paulreesauthor3928”old man” is a seafaring expression for “the captain”
@@tonyhalsall3170 thanks. That must be why my son calls me the old man. Little does he know it's actually a compliment! 🤣🤣
What raymarine chart plotter do you have
Its the Raymarine Axiom Plus with the Navionics charts.
@@sailingmadness thanks it looks good been thinking of getting a axiom 7 RV myself
You need to invest in a wetsuit Dave

In Argyll, we all use ‘Smidge’.
Hey Dave, what's with the "OLD MAN" comment??? Ha. Just askin'
The term "Old Man" is sailing slang when referring to the Captain. So I am assuming Luisa knew this when she said it? 😜
Mooring ball? Bathroom? Is this really Scotland?
Now you can see why there's a couple of submarine bases up there.
