Original video - • BAND-MAID / After Life...
An afterthought I love how each person gets sucked into the original characters rage some at first to calm it but eventually all succumb to the infectious rage.
The afterlife is great music for the Maidiacs, and all others that love great music! Band-Maid brings order to chaos, maybe!
I believe this was filmed in the place that Miku worked.
Parts of this were filmed at the @athome Cafe Miku used to work at. A bit of trivia, the cleaning lady isn't a paid actor/actress. The woman they had hired for the shoot had to cancel so one of the office women from their management company played the role. She did get paid, but she isn't an actor/actress.
Thanks Jack. That was me. 👍
Thanks so much for your sharing!
I hope you`ll enjoy their music!
Welcome back to band maid! Aren’t you glad you did 😊
Miku is the only Maid to have worked in Tea Room Cafe. Apparently, some of them have stages for people to perform and attract those who aspire to singing careers.
Is there “life after” Band-Maid? Maybe. But it won't be the same. And I'd miss my aching 10 year smile. Miku's "after life" came once she quit the maid café thing and started Band-Maid. Thank you Miku! And thank you, Jack, for bringing Band-Maid to your great viewers!
You’re not wrong. As others have mentioned, Miku came up with the band concept working in the Maid Cafe from this video. I don’t think this video is a representation of her frustration with the customers, as all indications are she loved that job, and turned it into a rock band.
My interpretation of the video and anger is more with the world of music. She was originally in an idol band and she quit to form this band. So I see it as her anger at not being able to sing the awesome music she loved, and that frustration spreading to each other employee that met her, until there were 5 and then they were able to make their own path together (thus the synchronized dancing)
I could be pulling all of that out of my backside, but it resonated with me.
Thank you for reacting to Afterlife! My favorite Band MV's are when Maids f@ck shite up!
I always wonder what incident at a maid cafe passed Miku off enough that she penned the lyrics and set up the scene and choreography to this video.
Miku had been in an Idol vocal trio called Lil Cumin until April 2013, before finding work in a Maid Cafe for a couple of months. This is a bit of a play on Miku's time there. In interview she said in fact that she enjoyed it and that the occasional song and dance routines that the maids put on for customers kept up her interest in music. Also, that she was actually sad to leave the Cafe after she had started to bring Band-Maid together from June 2013, but this is why she wanted to maintain the maid image for the band, even though Saiki and Misa soon changed their costumes.
Interesting. Thank you for the info.
*Beware the pocket flare!* 🧨
Miku actually enjoyed her time at the @home maid cafe in Akihabara, she was a favourite among the clientele, but she had bigger dreams. It's possible that some of the other employees had that built up frustration. This is the maid cafe chain she worked for. ruclips.net/video/uW545ZcmPMU/видео.html
Your Noise Gate setting keeps stepping on your voice. Yes, Miku worked in a Maid Cafe. This was the building the cafe in was and the one playing the manager was her old manger.
Sadly I thought I had that fixed. Thank you for the heads up I missed it in editing
Welcome back to BAND-MAID, Jack!
Where have you been? The Maids missed you (probably 😊)
I believe you pretty much nailed the music and video analysis. There’s a picture on the wall in the maid café in this video, that shows a picture of Miku when she was working as a maid.
Hearing “after life“, makes me want to hear some more of their thrash metal. Have you heard “Rinne,” yet? 🤔
Every BAND-MAID song I have heard I have posted as a reaction and I have released all of them. Thanks for the recommendation I'll add it to next recording sessions list.
Rhythm guitarist and Band-Maid founder Miku Kobato had worked as a café maid, both in her hometown of Kumamoto and in Tokyo. She worked several jobs while attending college, often missing classes due to overwork, but to pursue her show biz dreams she needed to be in Tokyo, where living expenses are high. Miku had challenges fitting multiple jobs, school, auditions, and sleep into her day, so you can imagine that having time for a meaningful social life may have seemed an impossible dream for her. Miku swears that her song lyrics are not autobiographical, not pulled from her life, but from outside sources like novels, TV, and film, yet in this case "Afterlife" looks very personal.
Check out Gacharic Spin. A good song to start with is ‘Tamashii’ live. They are phenomenal and very energetic live.
Yeah I’ve worked in the service industry. And I’ve had days like that .
I don't know if the maid with the red 🎀is suppose to be Miku but i was thinking the same thing . Thanks for supporting The Maids
I'd never noticed that before and the second maid on the bench has a blue bow.
"Where did she get flare?" Standard bad ass rock band issue, just in case things get out of hand :)
Band Maid write the best "reviews" of boyfriends (Hate?) and former employee situations (right here) ever. Let them review everything!
This is the spooky vid where the waitress throws the tray at the wall in the locker room & it hits the floor only to disappear from existence.😲
🍺🙄
Don't worry Gary-san. Even tray's have an After Life. 😇

The opening of this video is actually shot in the maid caffe that Miku worked in back in the day. No hard feelings on her part as far as she's said.
BTW: Akane Hirose has the ending dance routine memorized. There's a video of her "torturing" Misa with it, making her laugh.
いろんな、いろんな事あるけど~次を繋げる人は、、やはり女性かな~だってね!! 事実を見てるからね~と!!。音楽はやはり 最高だよね~と。
