Thank you Voice of Tibet for having this wonderful intensive interview with Gen. Ngadhen la about skills and extensive experience in the making of Tibetan musical instruments particularly Drayen. I truly appreciate his dedication towards the preservation of our traditional cultures which the making of such instruments become a part and parcel, in keeping alive our cultural heritages. I wish our CTA ( Tibetan government-in exile) must look into the shortage of Tibetan instruments makers both inside and outside Tibet and therefore CTA must initiate the program to open the school dedicated towards teaching our young aspiring Tibetans of making various Tibetan unique instruments like Drayen and others. And I would definitely like Gen Ngadhen la to become a teacher as much as desired by him and I hope such project or program will be materialized some days in near future which the moral responsibility to carry on such mission lies with the Department of Education under CTA. This is my humble suggestion and someone will definitely look into the problem of having shortage of Tibetan making musical instruments and thereby badly in need of opening Tibetan musical instrument making school before it’s too late!
Like he said we have to incentivize young generations to learn our unique handicrafts.. i am thinking of learning the art of making Dranyen..
