I've done this before, I use two grinder mechanical two circular saw mechanical, the ratio of one turn of pedal the propeller turn 280 turn, but unfortunately, it's hard to pedal when it is in water, just keep on inventing

Very nice!! But when you pedal like a bike in forward motion your boat will go backwards with this left turning propeller! Turn the angel grinder gear at 180 degree and mount it on the left side of the bike chain so you can use a left propeller in forward motion or change to a right propeller or mount the propellor in front of your boat! Go ahead I wanna see more good ideas and stay healthy
I always thought a propeller would be more efficient than a paddle, but I didn't know if it would work. I still don't. Thanks for the trial run.
It does work.... I built one a couple of years ago and I’m in the process of making a video of it now because people seem interested. Video on RUclips sometime in June 2020. Know Expert.

I'm only 1.5 minutes into the video... Great worm/90 degree drive idea!
But, here is a thought... Why not use the windings or small alternator to generate power to operate lights or a battery charger.
~OR~ Use a battery assisted motor to help power the boat?.
I had considered buying a lower unit from an old motor and powering it with bicycle gears.
We testing this first and then we use the machine
@@KHMERDIY You could weld a drill attachment. Still can use the hand/bike drive but can choose to use a battery powered drill if desired.
I am always amazed at what can be done with just about nothing. If you used the pedal portion of a bicycle you would have the ability to have a wider range of gearing. The universal joint from a socket set would be a good connector from the gearbox. The boat I would suspect would be more like a long tail version.

Nice idea and all but if u are gonna do this and use it in the water the propeller should be a left hand or else it will come undone and eventually fall of due to propeller torque and having the thread go the same way the drive shaft and prop shaft will undo underneath the propeller. Also if u were to ride this like a bike and set it up so it works underneath u. You wouldn’t be able to put a right pedal on it because the wood is in the way

I like the principal, but I doubt the gearbox would cope with the torque transmitted through a well-matched propeller for long. Nice bit of lateral thinking, though.

Nice work, but the propeller is rotating in the wrong direction in relation to forward movement of what pedal boat they hopefully will build. the pedal gear assembly from the hand grinder gear box rotates correctly but hopefully they can find a propeller with the opposite blade pitch to what they have in their mockup. Or just rotate the hand grinder gear box assembly 180° and the drive shaft & propeller will be going in the right direction in relation to the foward movement.

Well the chain is totally unnecessary the small gear you could have put a 10 inch round steelcylinder on there and put a handle on it and it would have done the job just fine and eliminate the chain all together don't understand why he even did that
The video title says "pedal boat"... I suppose that is the ultimate goal. By using the chain they can have a central drive system with person, chain and propeller all along the boat's centerline, for balance. If you skipped the chain you'd have to put both pedals, and hence the heavy person who is pedaling, offset to the propeller. Also leg muscles are very strong, so the chain allows them to take better advantage of the strength by using a drive ratio other than 1:1 going into the gearbox.

we want to keep the center of gravity .and the flux capacitor is pretty damn heavy, and we're going to need a feed for the garbage . so where are we going to put the garbage feed...? the garbage feed is very important because that is our fuel for the flux capacitor. the better the garbage the faster you can go .. I think it's like a 1 to 5 ratio of good garbage to bad garbage. and that way you don't have to run gear lube in the gearbox. you can use honey from the honey bees .. all organic an natura..l and everything goes through the flux capacitor .what we need to know is how are we going to balance everything out , so the boat does not get top-heavy or side heavy on one end . so is there a way we can mount the flux capacitor lower .? so we get it down to the center of gravity that is the question here......

Will it?? I should think the grinder motor spins faster than the grinding wheel, if you are talking about propeller rpm speed. Those DC brush motors run pretty fast... think Dremel direct drive tool at 20,000 rpm or so. Maybe a disc grinder output speed is around 5400 rpm? I don't know offhand but I'm guessing the motor speed is at least double the disc speed.

How does the gear reduction work when peddling in the water. I'm looking for a 1:1 gear drive to do this with.

The shaft wobbles because the Carrier bearing is too big... tape up around the shaft to make it fit in the Carrier bearing so it won't be pushed out to the side and it will not wobble so much.
Front Handle gear should be reversed for more tourque

probably would have gone easier to use junk bicycle rather than motorcycle parts & tubing for shaft drive instead of bar. American "Jersey Speed Skiff" would be a good hull shape, 1/2 size would be 8 Feet long by 3 feet wide. With your welding skills look at RUclips videos using blue plastic from used barrels on frame welded up from flat steel stock.

You on the right track son but still.....no Oscar ! YOUR set up is way too much drama with too much MOVING heavy parts for a pedal drive system ! Keep it lite with less MOVING parts so you are able to transfer better HP & TORQUE TO THE PROP FROM YOUR LEG DRIVE MUSCLES ! .....I RECOMMEND FINDING A SMALL LOWER FOOT OF AN OUTBOARD UNIT 2-5HP MAX . A RIGHT ANGLE DRILL CHUCK CONNECT TO PROP SHAFT AND OTHER END TO BICYCLE PEDAL SPROCKET . USED 10 SPEED THIN BICYCLE CHAIN FOR CONNECTION . USED ONLY A 2 BLADE PROP ABOUT 10" INCH LONG JUST SIMILAR TO A RC AIRPLANE PROP . IT WILL GIVE YOU PROPER HP/TORQUE RATIOS WITHOUT KILLING YOUR LEGS AND CATCHING HEART ATTACKS ! LOL ....IT WILL BE A DROP IN UNIT JUST LIKE THE HOBIE KAYAK . HOPE THIS HELP ?
