I'm a black man from the hood and I've liked JD ever since I read an arcticle on him in The American Conservative. He talked seeing a poor, single black mother on a train and how conservative need to extend a hand to people like her as well. He had an eye opening moment. I was impressed with him at the time, because I thought that he was a real talent. His career almost was cut short because he, like so many Republicans, tried make it while going against maga. I'm glad to see him holding the torch now because he is the future of the movement.

Happily, the mic-cut didn't work. We could all hear Vance's complete answer even after they cut his mic. Cutting it was a huge tell from these corrupt "moderators".
I think it was intentional. Half-cut the mic so if Vance says something that didn't help them, they could appear to be 'in control', but allow enough of it in case Vance said something that they could deem 'extreme' and run with. The only time we heard any voice when they were 'cut' was Vance.

Minnesota is a little bit of a weird state and is certainly not like any other midwest state. Twin cities metropolitan area (St. Paul/Minneapolis + other smaller suburbs) make up about 60% of the states population. Walz only took twin cities and Rochester (3rd largest city heavily medical industry/liberal). In other words to take Minnesota you can do so on a more urban/liberal policy and you don't need to appeal to more rural voters. If you get a few miles outside of these population hubs and they quickly turn their noses up at Walz. Compare this to Michigan where even a huge city like Detroit only makes up about 20% of it's population. I'm from Minnesota and I know a few people who live rural who feel disenfranchised by the states blue history and it is what it is but many Dems mistakenly believe Walz is going to have a midwest appeal which I just don't think will happen.

Every single time I have seen J.D. Vance speak to media who are in most cases openly hostile to him, he has handled himself with unflappable calm and intelligent courage.
He has a great record of chosing people to work in his administration and cabinet. How many did he fire during his time in office. JD's advantage is he is willing to do DJT''s dirty work without any scruples. Many did this for DJT and ended up in jail.
As a single mother raising my daughter has been a huge challenge! I pray every day that she makes something amazing with her brilliance and when I watched JD Vance in this debate it gave me hope that she too can overcome the struggles we have endured and become someone as great as him!

When the women gave Walz opportunities to rebut Vance, they repeatedly asked, “Do you want to respond to the allegations?” They never asked Vance if he wanted to respond to Walz’s ‘allegations.’ And JD usually initiated a response anyway, whereas I think Walz would have just stood there and said nothing if he hadn’t been prompted, which shows Walz isn’t a leader.

I think it was intentional. Half-cut the mic so if Vance says something that didn't help them, they could appear to be 'in control', but allow enough of it in case Vance said something that they could deem 'extreme' and run with. The only time we heard any voice when they were 'cut' was Vance.

Minnesota is a little bit of a weird state and is certainly not like any other midwest state. Twin cities metropolitan area (St. Paul/Minneapolis + other smaller suburbs) make up about 60% of the states population. Walz only took twin cities and Rochester (3rd largest city heavily medical industry/liberal). In other words to take Minnesota you can do so on a more urban/liberal policy and you don't need to appeal to more rural voters. If you get a few miles outside of these population hubs and they quickly turn their noses up at Walz. Compare this to Michigan where even a huge city like Detroit only makes up about 20% of it's population. I'm from Minnesota and I know a few people who live rural who feel disenfranchised by the states blue history and it is what it is but many Dems mistakenly believe Walz is going to have a midwest appeal which I just don't think will happen.
I was prepared for the debate to be unfair , but JD did a great job !

When the women gave Walz opportunities to rebut Vance, they repeatedly asked, “Do you want to respond to the allegations?” They never asked Vance if he wanted to respond to Walz’s ‘allegations.’ And JD usually initiated a response anyway, whereas I think Walz would have just stood there and said nothing if he hadn’t been prompted, which shows Walz isn’t a leader.
