I wouldnt call a yellow tang a beginner fish. The reason is most beginners are not willing to quarantine and without that a tang will most likely stress at some point and kill most of ita tank mates with ich. Saltwater fish (with a few exceptions) need to be quarantined in copper and antibiotics for 4 weeks and onserved for 2 additional weeks before they go into your display tank.
I understand your opinion. I don’t quarantine my own fish because i know my lfs does it for me. But quarantine is always the best way before introducing new fish in your tank.
@@ReefAdventure I can appreciate that, but there are very few lfs that quarantine for 6 weeks before selling the fish. Most are sold within a few weeks or less of being in the store. The lfs may have low levels of copper in the tank but the short duration doesn't guarantee a pest free fish
