Kocsis: I also have something to add to this, because, well I have never hidden the fact that Yuja represents to me an amazingly great talent and skill set. But now the protagonist is actually Bartók, and when I say that I have never seen such an attitude, such preparation, and such a willingness to adjust the final details, I have never met such a first-rate, I emphasize in the artistic sense of the word, a first-rate artist who would have been so flexible in this respect. Well, all I can say is, I know that she doesn't understand, but I have all the respect, my utmost respect, for her talent, preparation, and attitude.
Yuja: I'm very happy to play with Kocsis because he had interested me in Bartók's music. After I met him, he is really such a genius. Since he plays the piano, he helps me to know the piano part very well, and also helps me to understand the orchestral parts too. So this is really a recording-level quality, since he knows both parts and helps me very much in the performance and rehearsals.
Now that they've put subtitles i understand what they are saying, but before that i didn't say it was a reason i didn't know. And i neither say it was only because of beautiful Yuja.
Well my english is not perfect but i try everthing to translate: "I want to say something for that , i've never conceal to for me Yuja is a really incredible and she represents aggregation of huge skills and talent/ability.. but now the main part is Bartók... and if i say I have never seen this attitude, preparedness and a capebilty/willingness to for the final tiniest little part of the music/performance... I have never seen like this in my life, and never met first class artist (in meaning of the art) who has this reflexibility ... so i just can say - its good she isnt understand - i really appreciate her music, her talent etc.."

+ytubejat what Yuja says in Chinese is: I’ve mentioned before that I would be so happy having a concert with Kocsis because he is really the reason why I started to be interested in Bartók . Now I thought him a real genius. Since he was a great pianist, he knows both my piano part and orchestral part in this Bartok no.2 very well and helped me a lot during rehearsing. So I’d say this Bartok concert is really like a recording level performance.
He said a lot of good things about Yuja about her attitude, her talent and how she pays attention to the littlest details of the music she plays. And he wittily said "it's good that now she doesn't understand what I say about her" :D
gabor aranyi my wife is portuguese so I understand your comment, thank you. It would however be wonderful to have a more complete english translation if you have the time and energy! Zoltan Kocsis is my favorite pianist since my youth and the last few years I've been so happy to follow the progress of Yuja Wang. Their collaboration is really a dream come true.
he said that he has always admired Yuja's talent and willingness, she's a great artist, with abilities that very few have. He espacially likes the values she has, and that few can understand and realize such details. She is vell prepared, has good attitude and willing, very flexible. So he really admires her. Long story short.

Chinese + Hungarian.... an illuminating interview, thank you
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
R.I.P. Kocsis!
I don't understand anything, but i love this interview for a reason.
I think I understand you! Not because I'm a man, but because of my power of reasoning.
Now that they've put subtitles i understand what they are saying, but before that i didn't say it was a reason i didn't know. And i neither say it was only because of beautiful Yuja.
Please!! Would someone translate this interview-lesson in English please! I! Every word Maestro Kocsis
utters is surely pure Gold!!

yuja is so cute when she's speaking in Chinese!! :)
she is speaking standard Chinese , also known as Mandarin.
What's the difference?

@@zsoltaudio Úgy gondolom, a megjegyzés nem ironikus akart lenni, hanem a kínai zongoristára való tekintettel a kínai írásjelekre vonatkozott.

Somebody please translate this to English. Thanks in advance

Yes, I would love to know what is being said. The video would not translate either.
KOCSIS - means coachman
What does the Chinese writing mean on Kocsis' T-shirt?
That's the character for dragon (龍) (pronounced like 'loong'), written in Traditional Chinese script.

Thanks a lot for the translation! But sadly Zoltan Kocsis just died few days ago at age of 64. May his soul rest in peace!
Can someone please translate what he said in Hungarian?
Zoltan Kocsis só falou em superlativos sobre Yuja Wang. Entre outras coisas, ele disse que nunca ouviu uma jovem musicista tão talentosa.
