    Comparison would probably be better by weight instead of total briquettes given how large the FOGO are in comparison. Thanks for the vid

    I love these videos that “nerd out” . I like the Fogo brand. Perhaps a Fogo Vs Jealous Devil charcoal episode ?
    Also, that Fogo Blazaball looks sweet.
    My wife and I tailgate @ Milwaukee Brewers & Green Bay Packers games (tailgating is a ritual for us Wisconsinites 😂) as well as camping with an abundance of beautiful state parks and more natural lakes than you know what to do with. That Blazaball would pair great with our Smokey Joe.
    Anyway, enough of my rambling lol; I really enjoy your content, man. Thank you.

      Thank you! It means a lot to me that you are enjoying the content. As you may already know, I too love the outdoors and frequently camp. That was the first thing I thought of too with the blazaball, “ this would be perfect as a travel starter!” 😂

    Loved the comparison. I use Fogo. I live in Southern Cal. I get mine at Barbeques Galore. If you have one near you, check it out.

    What am I missing? I don’t understand why you need to use a charcoal starter a piece of newsprint with a couple of teaspoons of cooking oil on it under a charcoal starter has always worked for me. I can imagine burning cooking oil isn’t the healthiest option, but it can’t really be worse than burning wax? It seems to me that they’ve came up with a solution for a problem that didn’t exist.

      Burning newspaper creates a lot of unnecessary smoke and upsets my neighbors. If it works fine for you then great.

    How is the re light on the briquettes? Do they hold together more like Kingsford, or do they crumble like b&b/blues hog?

    • @tomwadek
      @tomwadek  11 месяцев назад +1

      Great question. I found that they hold together well if used within about 5-7 days. Ofcourse, climate matters. I live in sunny California so your mileage may vary

      @tomwadek I've tried lump and briquettes in jealous devil, b&b, cowboy, and blues hog, Rockwood lump, and Kingsford professional and original. Fogo is new territory for me.

    I order Fogo direct. You didn't tell us how the steak tasted compared to other fuels.

      I believe I did. I didn’t have to use any wood yet the steak still had a great woody flavor. The steak came out great. Loved the char too

    I’ll have to pick up some fogo briquettes. What I would say B&B is $10 a bag from Walmart online so that’d be a good comparison.

    Would the FOGO charcoals be better for lowkey apartment/condo BBQing if I'm trying to lower the smoke and smoke smell?

    • @tomwadek
      @tomwadek  8 месяцев назад

      they do produce less odor and combustion smoke but it is still noticeable
