As much as a Pac fan I am, I believe he messed up by hitting Orlando and setting himself up for retaliation, where as Big, a lot of people including Gene said they received intelligence that someone was out to kill Big, and Puffy ignored that information and even encouraged Big to go to LA.

If we have to pass blame, aside from Tupac handling Trevon’s business for him, it should be his entourage for letting him, specifically his security that was there, Frank (RIP). They didn’t have to know on the spot that the dude being jumped was a killer, but they knew Tupac already was in the middle of a case and this would have sent him back to prison.
Also, if we absolutely have to say something else, Buntry should have either been in the BMW or the car directly behind because apparently he was the only one in the entire entourage with a firearm.

Your personnel may have needed better training. However, it was the 90’s, close body protection is a whole lot different today. The big issue is lack of after action report/briefing after the initial scuffle at MGM. Certain protocols or measures should have been put in place IMMEDIATELY

The only thing that I blame the 2pac security for is not keeping him inside after the Orlando fight in that hotel lobby. Reg was in club 662 preparing security there. No one could have predicted 2pac would attack a gangbanger then ride around on the strip hanging out the window. They should have rolled out quietly straight to the club. Either immediately or a few hours later. Non challant, changed vehicles, taken a differene route. Simple stuff.
You just kind of proved Reggie to be culpable. You said they should've rolled out quietly to the club right? So that means if you were head of security, you would've made sure that they rolled quietly which means it could've been avoided. Nobody knew Pac would attack a gangbanger but isn't it security's job to immediately report and be on high alert? The whole 662 trip should've been cancelled, isn't that a security decision? It was definitely their fault
@AlfaQgoode this was 1996, not the era of instant communication of all the facts. Hindsight always 20/20. He prioritized security at the club, I'm sure if he had to do different he would have been personally involved accompanying pac and suge and could have been the voice to tell them what to do immediately after orlando incident, but it just didn't happen that way. Tupac is to blame for his own demise at the end of the day. He was reckless and I'm sure he didn't follow whatever security protocol they had for that night

No direct communication was needed, if you're providing security for the most controversial rapper on the most controversial label during a rap war, you should have a solid emergency plan in place. Any type of conflict, especially an all out fight should have resulted in all plans being cancelled and a meeting with the head of security and artist. You may say that Pac caused it but what's the point of having security if they don't get you out of situations you caused? You say Pac didn't follow protocol, so why isn't there any stories of security not allowing Pac to leave his hotel room and him not following protocol? Why no stories about security suggesting to Suge that they travel in SUVs with tint but Pac refused? Pac and Suge didn't head to 662 until over an hour after the beatdown, they had plenty of time to do the job they were hired but failed to do. We will never know if Pac wouldn't had followed protocol because there was no protocol, just incompetent guards along for the ride, having a good ol time 🤷🏾♂️
