Do I have the risk to replace my tensioner without open engine(2016 Toyota corolla 2zr-fae)cover?and after install turn crank to counterclockwise for little bit or turn until you hear little hook release? Then if you hear it click ,then do we need to turn clockwise and how many turn we need?thank you Please reply appreciate that.
Is this 2014 - 2019 Toyota Corolla? After install chain tensioner assembly how to release tensioner hook?is turn crankshaft to counterclockwise or clockwise? Ty
Practicing at school. Some of them have front timing covers that are known to leak, so we are doing a reseal, not replacing the chain. But this is what it takes to do the reseal. Also the new corolla like yours may have a different engine, not sure if any of those have developed a leak yet. This is the 2018 and older.
@@paulkelley86 Dosent the LE, XLE trims have a similar engine to this? Its still a 1.8 2zr engine, only difference I see between them is that variable valve timing controller. The SE and XSE trims use that new 2.0 engine
Dude how are the cams? What direction are they

That is correct, or if you can reach it with a screwdriver, snap the tensioner inward and it will unlatch and pop out.
@@paulkelley86 ,but I dont want to use this method is because I need to remove engine cover and buy gasket and long stick screws driver.
Muito boa a explicação
This engine is in my 2021 corolla. I thought the chain would be a lifetime component? What caused you to tear into this?
