Deserve many applauses👏👏👏👏👏👏 Literally Ben is speaking out the truth for LGBTQA+ community to the world, yes, the world is changing, but even in countries like UK, marriage is legal, you think pride, homosexuality (or other minorities) won’t be an issue, yet, indeed, crimes against LGBTQA+ still happening, not a rare thing, that’s why this is so well done, I feel it, Ben, sometimes you just feel so exhausted, years/decades/centuries fighting for rights, it drained all your energy, just like people dealing with racist/sexist issues etc… it’s the same living in fear, like what happened to George..😭😓, see, that’s in 2020, it’s still happening, which is so sad, because you thought the western countries are better now towards these issues but no, it’s still really serious, so Ben’s breaking point is so natural and makes sense, you just feel tired of all the fighting, like when your immune system exhausted of fighting a virus, it’s the same, you don’t want to fight anymore, you just want to hide and stay safe, it’s the point where you think what’s the point, you lose that protective cover you masked for yourself and it ripped yourself out exposed, you don’t know if ever you will relax and find peace and happiness without having to worry or scared to death… 😩 😣 ugh… I don’t know what else to say, just feeling sad and angry, but I’m hoping Ben can pick up the pieces again, because we still got people who love and care about us, keeping going like this, it’s not healthy, and it will get worse and we would hurt ourselves and people who love us, so Ben needs help and talk to professionals, but indeed the storyline is good!! Haven’t seen a good writing like this for a while!! Wow!!😇😇🤗🤗
What about the people in the middle or do they not matter is it just always going to be this side or that side cause if it is we middle cunts are done far more important things to deal with like the fact people don't have enough food to survive or the fact that over 7 million children in Africa each year get groomed but yet you want to talk about the lgbt community get a fucking grip cause if you have a choice you have more than what you deserve
What they need to understand is that Ben is deeply traumatized and probably suffering from PTSD. He can't just put his chin out and head up and get over it and them telling him to won't help. He need professional help if he's ever gonna recover.
I’m in a relationship where people assume we’re both women, and the fear of getting beaten up some day is so real. Every time I walk in public with my girlfriend hand in hand, we get the looks, we get people shouting ”fags” as they drive past us… it’s the horrifying truth that same-sex relationships face this even to this day. My heart goes out to everyone who has to go through this. It’s horrifying.
This was amazing scene. Unless a gay couple walk holding hands or kissing in public without worrying about safety then gay liberation is still in progress.
Does anyone actually remember Ben pretending to be straight? He was literally tap dancing whilst belting out musical tunes in the launderette at the age of 8!
I live in the Netherlands and I honestly believe its not as bad here. but it's very sobering to see such messages because I'm sure people feel like that despite how far we have come as a country
Eventually LGBTQ people will not even need abbreviations attached to them. The rainbow flag is about all kinds of diversity, I. E. Dana 1970, All Kinds of Everything.

It sounded like Ben was saying, "You don't know what it's like so I'm going to hide" I'm not trying to compare suffering or issues but a lot of people can't hide and have to live in fear constantly. I think it would make a great dialogue scene. Not to say one has it worse than the other but a moment of connection and encouragement.
There were 115,000 hate crimes in the UK in 2021. The amount of hate crimes committed against LGBTQ people *rose* from 2020 to 2021. We don't have to be in 1980 for this to still be an issue.
@@lexi219 thank you for saying this. LGBTQ+ hate crimes have risen in London (where this soap is set) and homosexuality is still a crime in some countries and ppl are being killed. I think the "1980" commenter and the original poster who"loved" their comment might benefit from educating themselves.

Just catching up. I understand where Ben is coming from BUT I'd be curious how this scene/ conversation would play out with a Person of Color present.
Why? Not everything has to be about race or include a person of color in every issue and this is coming from a black person.
