    At least it looks like a SUV unlike the tesla that looks like a bloated hatch

      ...to further the conversation, the reason the shape is like that is efficiency. Tesla cars have long ranges, especially on the highway, for their size, battery capacity, and price - because they don't waste as much energy pushing through the air. So, it's a compromise. This will need a bigger battery to have similar range, which will mean either it's got a bigger, heavier, more expensive battery - or it will have a shorter range.

    In 2025, my next electric vehicle will be either the EV5 or the EV3.

    Certainly looks 100 times better than a Model Y.

      Omg that is truly subjective. Call this car better looking than a model y

    Kia has shortchanged Aussie buyers again by leaving out a heat pump on all grades. Not a problem if you live north of Sydney or only do short trips, but long drives on cold days requires more frequent charges. The GT-Line in NZ gets a heat pump so why not in Oz?

    At the recent Sydney EV Show drove a number of models back to back on a VERY short test drive route. The ride of the Kia EV5 did not impress at all and the whole car felt very under done. What did surprise and impress were the Xpeng and the Mustang Mach-e. There may be other reasons why these may not make my short list but yet to find them. The Kia EV5 will not make that list.

    Is therre a rear wiper?

      Yes, all grades are fitted with a rear wiper and washer. The wiper arm is hidden from view (under the spoiler) when not in use.

      Yes!!
      No rear wiper is a deal-breaker, for me.
      (I rented an EV6 recently, in rainy conditions, & reverse parking, eg, was a nightmare)

    My family has a Kia hybrid, a Model 3 Performance, and a Bolt. I think this is by far the least attractive of their electric cars so far. It just looks a bit off and I doubt that this shape will help it to maximize range. It does look a lot like an ICE car so maybe people will care more for familiarity than efficiency. We'll see. The small EV looks awesome though.

      @Petlaw99 7 дней назад

      No, plain glass for all except GT-Line and then only on the driver's side.

    Test drove an EV5 and being a well priced car, it hasnt any appeal looks wise, and sitting on front and rear seats feels like sitting on a couple of milk crates with a plank of wood for seating. NOT for me

      I'm not trying to be a smart.... but you're going to have to buy a fairly old car and get rid of your smartphone if you want to avoid that. You're tracked everywhere you go. Even inside stores if you connect to the wifi.

      @@davids1816 Yeah but there are modern cars with good customer service in Australia that verified not collecting or selling my driving data to jack up my insurance premium. Choice reported the good ones as well. Kia is being worst of the bunch. Also braking and speeding can be safety action under certain circumstances.

    The tire repair kit that 'Should' get you to a service station. Unless the puncture is over a certain size or causes a tear or is in the side wall or when the tire goes flat the bead separates from the rim or you have a blow out or you have tread separation or the puncture happens when you are in an area of rough terrain which the repair wont handle or you are a long way from a service station, because it only lasts a certain amount of time or the inflation can is faulty, had that happen once, and it wont inflate the tire. All well and good if you live in a metro area and can call road side assist. Then there is the fact that a lot of these tire repair chemicals actually render the tire useless and rather than a repair you have to buy a whole new tire. For FUG SAKE, give me a spare!
