You so lucky Shinn, that snow was pretty deep I guess you didn’t under estimate the shadow cause that truck plowed through that soft snow no problem. Shame your heating system didn’t work. But backup are always good. Baby Chloe is growing so nicely she is becoming aware of things all around her. I saw how she looked at the snow couldn’t take her eyes off of it. I would recommend using a Mr. Buddy propane heater. They make a smaller one that mounts on top of the 1lb propane tank. Has tip over and low oxygen safeties to shut it down in case of an emergency. Used them for years.
Out of all the videos I have watched for winter camping you are the only one who cleaned your windows off. Thank you. I know about all States but if you get stopped by police where I live and your windows and all are not cleaned off you will get a fine. Chloe your wife and doggie are just beautiful. Congratulations. Haha I don’t think I had it in me after the heater ordeal to even attempt shoveling that much snow. Keep me posted on the vehicle status! Definitely gotta plan a trip soon 👍

I assume the house will be 2x6 so you want at least a R20 in the wall if you're going traditional insulation , remember the tighter they build the exterior the better it will be that's where like a zip sheating really shines , but there's a lot of factors , zones etc but I am a huge proponent of rockwool

The socket you have the diesel heater is only up to 10 amps you need to purchase a 110v to 12v converter that goes up to 15 amps...i just did mine and works great. hope this helps someone.

What about a generator and an electric heater for the tent at night? If your camping alone run a long cord from gen and have heat whenever you want...

After several years as an infantry soldier at Ft. Lewis back in the 90s, your rooftop digs didn't seem that bad! You could still make a video and the wind just does that if you're lucky enough to have a shelter. My newly purchased 2010 FJ Cruiser, also Army Green, is something I may purchase a rooftop tent for. Believe what happened is your hose initially not being hooked up fried your fuel pump on the heater. I'd ask for a complete replacement and look it over for mistakes now that you're familiar with the workings.

consider getting a electric heater as backup. Since you have a battery pack, you can run it all night and worry less about CO and ventilating.

The diesel heater rattles because it is filling oil. You put the heater at the lowest position. When the rattle sound is finished, it means the oil filling is over and the heater starts to work. Don’t worry. Once you run successfully for the first time, everything will be very beautiful. , Need a little patience.
Just wondering if diesel heater had a kink in the fuel line. Mine came new with a kink in the line. Plus you need a fuel filter. And you should prime the fuel all the way up to the pump.

I'm guessing why you are having issues with the diesel heater is because it being bounced around and the heater losses it prime. You might need to re primed. Or double check it before going camping. Ya the little remote Hmm seems would work better if the heater connect to 12 v all the time. I have the simple one way simple remote.

Yeah, the remote control is not quality, and I will probably need to readjust the pump hose, as well as try adding an additive to the diesel fuel to prevent some gelling (maybe). Cool, which part of Washington are you at? I'm looking to plan a PNW meetup/camping trip soon.

Nice episode. Keep trying on the diesel heater or get a different model. They are worth it once you get it running. I paid less than $150 for mine on Amazon. By the way what brand hitch swing do you have?

Your windows are tinted really dark is it legal or it’s just for your privacy

Your pump won't pump because it is mounted incorrectly. The inlet and outlet are almost verticle
The pump needs to be mounted at a slight angle, like 20 degrees. This will allow the pump to actually pump and also let air bubbles escape from the pump
Also, don't mount the pump horizontally... this traps air in the pump and reduces its life and fuel delivery ability

I always thought don’t invest if you’re in debt, that’s my opinion, like why give your money away when you can pay stuff off and actually get more money when it don’t have to go anywhere but straight to your savings or whatever you want to spend on without using credit cards.

What app or site did you use to acquire cryptocurrency? The whole Bitcoin thing is confusing.
The apps I currently use are Coinbase, Gemini, Bittrex and Uphold. I use different apps because certain crypto currency is available on specific exchanges (apps)

I think it's a great project, with great leadership (co-founding ethereum brings a lot of credibility) and a great team. From what I understand it solves a lot of the problems that Ethereum has, and the way they break down their project plans in stages shows how important it is to them to communicate their progress. I do 50% kerosene in my diesel heater, freezes at -40F. You can't do 100% kerosene in a diesel heater cause it banks on using diesel to lubricate the pump. Currently -30 windchill here in Wisconsin today and zero gelling
