@@duffysarcade Yeah, it is unfortunate. Did you end up transferring your posts or buying new? I'm having a hard time locating them. I am also finding that most available T nuts are 4 prong instead of 3 and have a wider throat than the original, requiring that the underside of the playfield be bored out to fit them. I was able to heat the T nut that had the broken stud with a torch and remove it. It appears to have a white colored thread lock - possibly vibratite? I do plan on doing a playfield swap, but i'm nervous about the hardware situation if i cannot find repros
@Chris Stennie Iwas lucky that I was able to remove all of the posts and tap the T-nuts out by running a screw into them from the topside. On the new CPR I did have to predrill 3 tiny (1/16) holes for each T-nut or else the teeth would fold over when I tried to install them. I installed them by tapping them in with a tack hammer from underneath. Maybe a battery-powered impact driver could be used to gently remove the posts which should be able to break the loctite without shearing off the posts. Are you worried about shearing those metal studs that hold the plastic star posts? If you did shear some off and cannot find replacements right now, you could buy some threaded rod from the hardware store and use that with some locknuts temporarily.
Very nice work. Thanks for the tip on checking the grounds.
Excellent work my friend! Good find in the fuse box! Really looking forward to this machine being added to the lineup!
Did you have any issues with posts breaking when you removed them from the old playfield? Mine seems to have loctite on several
I don't think I've ever seen that. Someone went overboard on your machine by using Loctite. Totally not necessary.
