Gypsy Water is totally worth it IMO - so calming and well blended and fresh spicy. Having a moment 💙😌🤌🏼 I love reapplying it because the opening is so lovely as is the dry down.
For me it lasts at least 8 hours. After a couple of hours the middle notes become stronger, which is my favorite part of this fragrance. It smells like I just had a shower. But it's normal, the initial notes are not supposed to last long. This perfume doesn't have a silage which is a huge plus for me. I don't like leaving a trail of scent. Nor do I like other people doing it.
I found that Roberto Cavalli’s perfume called Paradiso has similar notes to Gypsy Water, it’s like £30 for 50ml and lasts sooooo long. It has notes of pine needles, zesty fruit etc so definitely worth the money over this one
I like Bal d’Afrique too but it's a little more on the soapier cleaner side like Byredo Blanche whereas Gypsy Water is truly unique with its outdoors/pine opening to a warm vanilla dry down. It's hard for me to replace Gypsy Water. I use the travel roller, hair spray and the hand lotion to try to supplement my overall scent bubble longevity.
i saw other perfume channels say Tocca’s Collette smells almost the same and it’s much much cheaper. I have a small bottle of Colette but I have never smelled gypsy water so I have no idea if they are the same but honestly if they are similar enough, the tocca one would be a much better choice bc 200 plus for a frag that doesn’t last is stupid
Never tried it but I’ve tried ALT dupe - probably not the same but I’m not sure I like this scent profile, although I like how you describe it - maybe it needs to dry down, but again it’s not the original- pretty strong right off the bat - I don’t want to pay that for something that lasts a couple hours. Milk can go sour on me, unfortunately.
For me it is working for hours and even afther a few hours the smell comes back, changed and its even more amazing..... Spray abit more, also on the clothes, its so so good!
I’m currently trying out the sample of it and feel like it doesn’t project much at all, but if I really sniff my arm about 5-7 hours later I can still smell a subtle hint of it. I wish it would project more since it’s so expensive!
It’s my favorite scent, but it’s very poor performance. Doesn’t last long and doesn’t project. Very disappointing especially for the price tag. Still love it tho 😩😩
Great review. I find Gypsy Water the most sensual, alluring, and sensual fragrance I've yet to smell. Sadly, as you accurately describe, it has NO lasting power. In fact, I can spray literally 10 sprays, and 20 minutes later nothing. I wish it were different as it is the ONLY fragrance I have found that is Signature worthy. And, yes, I keep buying, and one has to have one's nose against my skin to smell it. Would I recommend it? I'm on my fifth bottle and will repurcahse. Just wish they, Byredo, would reformulate so it lasted even more than 10 minutes.
@@LeauPapier very unique! I am not a fan of citrus and this is a somewhat citrus scent and this has become my signature scent. When I feel down I spray bal afrique and lifts me up immediately. Also you have to try it a few times. When I smelled it at Saks I was like ehh another citrus scent then bam! I was like this is different
@@LeauPapier Bd'A is a wonderful scent. The opening is very nice, but the drydown is where it shines. It has an absolutely beautiful drydown. It lingers on my skin for hours, with the most delicate, refined soapy scent. I also use it for layering. It's perfect for that as well. I tried a few of Byredo's scents, but only BdA prompt me to buy (at the moment). BTW, BdA and GW are 2 of the 3 scents available in 10ml original Byredo bottles, for a very affordable price.
I can notice it in the air it after 6-7hrs (and counting). About 4-5 sprays. What is the longevity issue? In comparison, I can’t even smell Dior Homme 2020 6-7sec after spraying; put the whole sample for faint a skin scent. The same for many other scents to my nose…
Having a title "gyspy water" is like having "Indian water" etc. I wouldn't have an issue with the title if it was called appropriately to my people; the Roma. Would be cool for u to criticise the INAPPROPRIATE label
In my opinion, this perfumes gives a positive association to the word Gypsy. If you want to stigmatise this word, associate it with hate, sure protest it. I don't see the point when the perfume is heavenly. Have you even smelled it? By the way, Byredo has a perfume associated with African culture, so is that offensive too? Is everything offensive these days, even if it creates positivity around the word? This world is insane and such comments make me even more depressed.

Thank you for suggestion. Which one does smell similar to GWater? I see difernet colour bottlea on google😊
@lauma4387 No way - Roberto Cavalli Paradiso and Azzurro make me sick to the stomach! They're absolutely not a substitute for Gypsy Water!

I didn’t like it a few months ago but recently I do, is a weird one I think with most fragrances they suit different seasons and moods etc etc
Maceration
I love Gypsy Water! in me the longevity is between 6 to 8 hours. It’s scent to yourself. I live in New York. 100% recommended special on girls ❤

I tried the ALT dupe at it was terrible. Definitely not the same. Try a decant of G water or test it at one of the department stores.
Absolutely love it but it doesn’t even last 2 hours on me!! Still, I’ve been thinking of adding it to my collection.
well, i think longevity is a problem in some of byredo's
@@jaidevsingh2913 In most tbh.
I don't care how good it smells if it doesn't last or project. I don't have money to throw away.

I use the alt dupe bohemian water much cheaper and I love it still oil perfumery has an imitation also that’s so long lasting
Is the alt dupe longer lasting than the og?
@@InRainbow95 idk how the longevity of the original is but my alt lasts usually 12 hours so I’m happy with it
I have bought Gypsy water over and over. The only perfume that I’ve never grown tired of. Recommend!
May I know what lip colour you're wearing? You're so pretty!
Thanks! It’s a loreal nude called ‘no doubt’
It’s my favorite scent, but it’s very poor performance. Doesn’t last long and doesn’t project. Very disappointing especially for the price tag. Still love it tho 😩😩
Bal d afrique is amazing, gotta get my nose on this

I really love Bal d’Afrique. It’s amazing (to me). GW comes off a little not great on my skin. I keep trying it though. I want to like it 😂
I really enjoy Bal D’afrique. I think I might get it as a replacement for GW
@@MonCioch I liked it so much that I later ordered both the lotion and shower gel. It’s so different yet nostalgic and fresh all at once.
@@MonCioch Do you think Bal D'afrique is a unique scent? 🙂

So pitty that the longevity is so poor 😔 The scent seems to be amazing 🥰
i wanted to buy i but actually gonna go with another one because you just cant smell it after a few hours:(
@@Flowercreamii Have you tried it on your skin? For me it lasts for more than 8 hours. It dries down to soapy, just-had-a-shower, woody skin smell.
The roll-on oil lasts longer
It is the best scent EVER. Seriously. But yeahhh.. I cant pay so much, I ran out so quickly...
I think Bal DAfrique is better
Gosh I like it but GW stayed 5 min on my skin :(
Thank you for the alternatives, Monica ✨💛✨
What about bal d'afrique? Does it last longer? And Mohave gost?

Antique Vanilla, Mojave Ghost and Gypsy water my favorite ☺️🥰
eeep this is just the vibes im looking for! thanks Monika :D xx
I like bal dafrique but I would like to hear which fragrances from this house are nice
I love your glasses!!! Where is it from? Cheers
Honest review ❤
Moniko, wiesz może czy w Polsce można gdzieś przetestować te perfumy Commodity Gold?
A co uważasz o bal d'afrique i mojave ghost?
Yes but its not used offensively and not all gypsies are Romanian
Byredo should reinforced the formula in order to last longer because this is a very expensive fragrance!
It smells like drinking a gin and tonic outside a summerhouse located in a forest.
They really need to change the name. The roll on oil lasts longer.
Having a title "gyspy water" is like having "Indian water" etc. I wouldn't have an issue with the title if it was called appropriately to my people; the Roma. Would be cool for u to criticise the INAPPROPRIATE label
Agreed. The title is kinda offensive and inappropriate
I think they were trying to make it an ode to the Romani culture but they should have been more considerate when naming it
