    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 года назад

      They’re nice! But as you live in Singapore, in my opinion, you have many better airlines to fly from
      Singapore😅.
      Turkish is great for the humble-low cost used Europeans. But it’s not really at SQ’s, , EK, QR, MH, JL, NH, TG, etc’s level.
      But by all means try it! The more variety, the better!

  • @TripandTravels

    Huge fan of your videos. Somehow I love flying with Turkish Airlines on all my flights to Europe and I’m based in Singapore and I prefer them to Singapore Airlines. My last flight with TK from Vienna to Istanbul was far more enjoyable than the flight from Istanbul to Singapore with singapore airlines. Needless to say their business lounge in Istanbul is amazing!
    Like you rightly pointed out, their breakfast meal on Economy class is always that white pastry thing :)

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 года назад +1

      How rare that you prefer TK over SQ..
      They are great and enjoyable, don’t get me wrong. But SQ is just so chic..
      The lounge in Istanbul is indeed amazing. The only problem for me is that I live in the UAE and the local carriers just beat TK in my opinion, so I rather fly with them..
      Nevertheless always enjoy TK!

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 года назад

      True, but you also need to have those extra minutes for taxi, or just for contingency. Some airlines have little spare time and thus seem always late, while there was one that had an insane much of extra schedule time thus always is “on time”. Can’t remember which one, but it might be Iberia of some sorts.. Will try to remember!

    Beer for breakfast? You must be Latvian. Vodka would be better. Latvians call this "jumptins" meaning little roof.

      Spanish! And no vodka on TK 😭
      But it was kind of brunch time, so it’s justifiable 😄
      Thanks for writing Peter!

    What a great report! I always learn new aviation facts with you, it´s so entertaining. I love TK ans IST airport, it´s really cool watching their departure boards with all those exotics destinations...and spotting all those different airlines. Thanks again sharing yours trips! I´m addicted to them.

      The destination board is the insanest I’ve ever seen in my life.. There are countless of exotic destinations. I even get the feeling that TK will just fly anywhere just to say they fly everywhere..! But good for them!
      Thanks for the comment, have a nice one!

    How big is New Istanbul airport still growing? Btw, worst place to be stuck in during the zombie apocalypse and that goes for any airport.

      But it specially goes for Istanbul, it’s just so crowded and there’s people from all over the world!
      Yes, it’s ever growing and has so much more room for growth.. mental!

      @@TheLayoverAviation Which is better? DXB or New Istanbul?

      Tough question!
      I rather have something small, like Bahrain!
      New Istanbul is just massive.. And no free WiFi! (there is but it’s so hard to get that I can’t even be bothered).
      I would go for Dubai as I like the lounges there better and the prices are more affordable.
