Shaper Trace review of accuracy doing something unconventional

  • The Shaper Trace definitely looks like a handy tool for some decorative work but I was curious how good it could be at something where function matters more than form. Gasket making isn't a hard thing, but to quickly and accurately knock gaskets out when you are working on something is a workflow dream.
To do this I just used the gasket itself and didnt bother tracing anything. The results were very promising.
I think this little frame has some merits for that goal of making a quick trace to laser to gasket workflow that I am looking for. Let me know what you think and what else you would want me to try and play with the Trace.
I am personally very impressed with the ease of use and capability of this handy little frame doing something it was absolutely not intended to do.

photogrammetry. I did a lot of this for mapping fire origin and crime scenes. Sub MM accuracy when doing a 100x100 foot area .

It was intended to do anything one could think up to do. It is for imagination.

I'm looking for a good way to convert svg to dxf.
Want to be able to move Shaper Studio files into AutoCad

I actually use lightburn to bring it in and save it as a dxf from that. I use it anyway for the laser
