This is such a good battle! Both dancers definitely came hard, but I have to give it to Hoan. His technique and musicality were insane! He knew the beats way too well. Props to Salah for that duo freestyle improv. Definitely one of my favorite battles
I just discovered both Hoan and Salah this past hour and just found this and it actually made me cry 😭🔥🔥🔥 that’s right. this was so lit I cried. Bravo ole 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Its almost 2 years. And in the 2 years no battle has yet to top this one!!! It just makes me smile and smile and smile. The happiness is so great here that even the crowd felt it. It really does not matter who won that day. This battle already sealed itself as a historic battle. I envy those who was there to witness this!!!
This Hoan dude is very dope!!! Salah still kept raising the bar to newer levels!! FANTASTIC BATTLE!!! Loved them both and that ending was TOO AMAZING!!!
Salah is one of the worlds greatest, been following him for over 20 years since he was a kid making videos with his friends, hes on par with mr wiggles.
I am from the old school of 1984 breakdancers and in my time real battles were fought on the dance floors, but like the one I have seen between Salah and Hoan it is really amazing
Gotta give it to Salah for being so damn humble at the end. " Losing or Winning, doesn't matter. It's the memory. " And after a battle like that, he's so right. That was incredible.
Steve Yeah. Salah doesn't need to win to prove himself, he's already recognized has one of the worlds greatest dancers. And in my books, he won't ever lose that title.
Salah's words at the end is what popping is about. It about the experience, not who is better, who hit harder, but being able to experience a once in a lifetime event. That's why we battle, to become better than our best. I've seen hundreds of battles in the last 10 years, nothing even comes close to the love and respect I saw here. Maybe if we'd be a little more aware that we all are dedicated to the exact same passion, we could. Because that
^ is what all battles should be, that was Disneyland for popping. I remember Salah punishing so many dancers for not murdering the beat, then hoan brought his musical genocide as usual and played Salah at his own game. Salah forced a lot of poppers to move with the music instead of just to it; Hoan is now doing the same thing. By mastering how well he can move with the music and his ability to become whatever he hears, he's causing everyone to step up there game. We are blessed to have such a talent, Korea is doing dance what they do to Starcraft, taking no prisoners
I watched this like 20 times already today! Seriously the last part was just impromptu and improvise. U could know its not perfect. But things like this u only see in those dance movies where the challengers complement each others move. Much like the early Breakdance movies. This is real! It takes dancers a very high level knowledge and skill to know what the other guy is thinking. Hats off to both these legendary dancers.
I really appreciate Salah feelin that something more was happening when the floormaster tried to stop the battle toward the end, and mosdef... all hell broke loose soon after when the two continued the interplay. Hiphop's essence and power is experienced when you go beyond the technicalities and formalities and you are just in the spirit, allowing us to experience rare moments like what we saw at the end of this video.
Felt maybe salah had the slight edge after the first round, but Hoan got hyped when the second song came on. He clearly was familiar with it and killed it. Salah had a great second round too, but I think Hoan def won. Awesome battle
I may be wrong but I had the impression that Salah kind of toned it down in the second half in honour to Hoan's incredible performance. The improv at the end was so great. I mean, why, if you really wanted to win, would you give your opponent extra chances to shine while your own clock is running? He was legend anyway, even back then, maybe he just wanted to give it to Hoan.
you put amazing dancers with amazing music at the right time, art an beauty is created. well done both salah and hoan for giving their love for hiphop, its such an inspiration!
Holy hell. Hoan straight murdered the hell out of those rounds. I'm a fan of both don't get me wrong but how people on here are saying salah clearly won that is beyond me. Hoan is a freakin BEAST.
The part when Salah commenced applauding Hoan... What a sportsmanship! (In a dance battle you should try the most to downplay the adversary's skills, and yet, Salah just could not avoid showing its admiration for Hoan's performance. Respect!)
Salah hasn't lost a battle yet. Hoan did pretty good but if anyone can say his creativity was better than Salah you need to watch the video again. Hoan did alot more energetic and "bigger" moves but Salah's overall performance / IMPROV creativity is insane!
I've been a fan of Salah for years though. I mean... The man is an innovator. I'm personally glad there's other blood like Hoan out there now, bringing some strong talent!
I think that Salah was the more creative but Hoan just gave a slightly stronger more crowd pleasing performance I personally found this one hard to call I'd probably give it to Hoan but only just. Would like to see these two do it again sometime soon for sure, you can always rely on Salah to bring something original to the table.
I think Salah is by far the most talented versitile dancer ive seen possibly ever. His drive is effortlessly relentless. Hes the most humble and intelligent performer ive ever seen. I believe Salah to be the type of person who is beyond his own abiity that even in the passion of the moment of being the winner, would subconciously let his opponent win and make it happen. That is a small fraction of the greatness and gentleness of Salah. I couldnt even begin to say the same for Hoan. The truth speaks for itself.
This would have been my favorite dance battle of all time regardless of the amazing duo freestyle at the end, and the whole inner crown jumping in and going nuts after the fact. What a fuckin' party. Awesome!
They both put on a good show, but Salah always has something more interesting that sets him apart! - Tricks (clowning) - Creativity - Originality - Style - Soul - Delivery - Diversity - Funny - Polished - Prepared - Efficient - Fresh These things usually give him a slight edge. Plus you have to look at his work all together, not just this one snippet! The man has done SO MUCH with this art and you gotta respect that.
You mention many things things that do not have to do with the dance itself, I think that you are not dancing show, clowning, polished, funny, prepared ??? Wtf, and of what creativity you speak if only steps of salah more than 8 years ago that does the same I do not know that creativity has that, I see all the stars of the poping and no one repeats the steps for as long as it did not have more already when Competes one already knows the steps that makes salah since they seem a correograph already armed so much of what you mention like the soul, style, originality, fresh I do not see it by any side.... Creativity was what hoan did, that made everything freestyle and coordinated to the music that is to have soul and creativity.
I really like this dance battle, a lot more than others I've seen... No hard feelings, all in fun to entertain everyone. Now I've read other post, and there's a lot of people that feel like Hoan won... I for one enjoyed the whole damn video! up to the point when everyone rushed the floor... They would have kept dancing if they didn't get interrupted....lol I personally think it's a tie between Salah and Hoan.... BUT, what if Salah went first and got the better part of the second song that was played? The first min. Had all them slick ass sound effects that Hoan was bringing to life in dance. The croud went nutts, lol but Hoan had to keep interrupting Salahs turn for some reason.
emotional intelligence...Salah always knows to do the best Fitting things at the right Moment....he can do this in broken parts of seconds....thats, why he is always the better Dancer and Performer at all...you Need Talent and cleverness
Salad is good and creater dancer but the technique from Hoan is amazing. both are good dancer.hoan dances to the rhythm of all the music and each cut is perfect. My respect for both.
Salah is a legend, he's incredible, and his performances are artistically amazing. That said, I'm not sure there's anyone who could have beaten Hoan's second round, he was absolutely on fire.
Ill say it again ,these two in a dance movie with an ending like this would be awesome. Two friends separated by fame n money but reunite in a dance battle of ages!
I don't think Salah lost at all! He showed incredible restraint as to not do all his signature tricks and rather kept things fairly simple....still displaying great technique and character in his dance. Hoan is obviously dope but just looked liked he had those beats extremely 'rehearsed'...far different from musicality. Salah didnt have the crowd this time before the battle even started so knew any adjudication would futile. I think what he did at the end was quite commendable instead of being needlessly hard and hostile. I understand why ppl have hated on him in the past but not here...NOWAY!
Souhil Arachiche Only if you rehearse steps, then it isn't musicality. But there's nothing wrong about knowing a song and apply musicality to it. We, salsa dancers get the chance to play with a salsa beat the more we know the song.
elacomedido of course there's nothing wrong with just gives u an upper edge to that specific song only. But there's so much that goes into musicality that's way more important then knowing a song as a freestyle dancer
But isn't that the difference between being a dancer and dance at a certain beat or being a dancer and dance with the music, or just be the physical representation of what music is trying to say? I mean, I'm not saying by any means that you are wrong but as a salsa dancer, I just love listening to salsa in general and I can't help but knowing almost all salsa songs and have fun with them. I mean yes, I agree... you can have musicality let's say in an unknown salsa song, if that song has a steady and unchanging beat (rhythm). I'm curious to know what would be your definition of musicality, if you'd like to share it with me, then It would help me understand your perspective. Thanks!
elacomedido of course I'll share it ain't a secret lol but it's being able to adapt to different types of rhythms without having to know them and really understand music in general basically u wanna get to a point where u can just predict what's coming next very easily when ur freestyling. The difference between salsa and hip hop or popping or locking etc is that salsa requires u to be on rhythm with the song but in hip hop requires u to not only be on rhythm but also stay on the beat. The difference between Rythm and beat is that rhythm is a flow of the song in general and beat of course it's the different sounds such as base snare clap back beats etc. Hope that helped lol
Hoan obviously knew the 2nd track. If u still doubt it, look at his reaction when the song starts playin. He knew he was going to win once he heard that track. Still awesome battle and awesome track
2024 and this still slaps.

To this day
아직도 역대최고 세트중 하나
Ainda é o melhor segundo round de todos os tempos.
This is such a good battle! Both dancers definitely came hard, but I have to give it to Hoan. His technique and musicality were insane! He knew the beats way too well. Props to Salah for that duo freestyle improv. Definitely one of my favorite battles
both guys did crazy moves I loved it !

Hoan killed it....... I like Salah, but New era has come.
Salah is old school and hoan is dope ever see both is winner's.
Salah did his thing, but Hoan held his own. This was a great battle! Much respect to both of these dancers.
Salah is one of the worlds greatest, been following him for over 20 years since he was a kid making videos with his friends, hes on par with mr wiggles.
I belive the second song was Hoan's heartbeat he went HARD on that one
Yeah, it was pretty insane
If you watch Hoan's battles you'd know that this guy knows kinda every single song, I don't fucking know how he do that
I am from the old school of 1984 breakdancers and in my time real battles were fought on the dance floors, but like the one I have seen between Salah and Hoan it is really amazing
Dope how they came together at the end.. pure showmanship
Sitting here watching them dancing makes me feel amazing. That feeling in this video... man, i wish i had been there.
ohh yes!...me too :,)
Gotta give it to Salah for being so damn humble at the end.
" Losing or Winning, doesn't matter. It's the memory. "
And after a battle like that, he's so right. That was incredible.
Yet he would have a big smile on Red Bull BC one 2009 Finals when his homeboy Lilou wins.
Steve Yeah. Salah doesn't need to win to prove himself, he's already recognized has one of the worlds greatest dancers. And in my books, he won't ever lose that title.
Atarioo
Yeah he can prove himself but he isn't fair when it comes to judging.
The epic final notes of this battle are all Salah. He really knows how to come with drama and bring the house down.

06:32 to 06:49 mind blowingly sick moves 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 especially with the tunes a great battle.

- Originality

These things usually give him a slight edge. Plus you have to look at his work all together, not just this one snippet! The man has done SO MUCH with this art and you gotta respect that.
I totally agree.
Did you really just take all that from Hoan? lol
You mention many things things that do not have to do with the dance itself, I think that you are not dancing show, clowning, polished, funny, prepared ??? Ill say it again ,these two in a dance movie with an ending like this would be awesome. Two friends separated by fame n money but reunite in a dance battle of ages!
صلااااااااااااااااااااااااااح واااااااااااااو رائع
2020..n still awesome to watch!
wow...
Epics battle from Salad and Hoan. the best battle have ever seen. fort the history for ever POPPING DANCE
