May curse of Allah SWT on them who slander sahabas and umm al mominoon
May Allah guide them or l'3 them and disable and expose them and make it a means for Sunni Islam to spread over and use them.

If one were to ask the Jews who are the best people after Moosaa alayhis salaatu wassalaam, they would say the associates and companions of Moosaa. If one were to ask Christians who were the best people, they would say the disciples and companions of 'Eesaa alayhis salaatu wassalaam.
But if you were to ask the rafidi shi'i who are the WORST of all the people ever created, they would say... the sahaabah رضي الله عنهم and they would also curse jibreel alayhis salaam. In this area their kufr has even surpassed the kuffaar jews and christians.

I wanted to ask as clarification of the Shaykh's statement, wouldn't the greatest and most important differences be the fact that they commit shirk as they call upon members of the Ahlul Bayt and do other acts of shirk?

The Shaykh's opening statement was that their stance on the Sahabah is FROM the greatest and most important difference and that the differences between the Shia and Sunnis are many.

Their greatest sin is not that they only accept & respect Ali (RA) but that they don't accept & respect any of the 3 caliphs who preceded Ali (RA) because of their confined concept of Ahl al-Bayt. Some even go to the extent of abusing those caliphs.
Narrated by Abu Said:
The Prophet (SAW) said, "Do not abuse my companions for if any one of you spent gold equal to Uhud (in Allah's Cause) it would not be equal to a Mud or even a half Mud spent by one of them." - Al-Bukhari

Last sentence of Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) : " This point is from the most important matterS that differenciate Ahlul-Sunnah from the Shias "

And [there is a share for] those who come after them, saying, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful."

Almighty Allah's last prohpet Muhammad(PBUH) adviced or commanded in his later part of life that now the religion is completed and you have Holy Quran as Allah's guidance and for better understanding the practical interpretation of it's teachings are Muhmmad's Sunnah. Indulge and bind, specially in today's World, with Holy Quran to prevent or refrain from the ignorance and accustomed with the realities. Don't be fool or disguise by those, as leaders or imams, who are the name sake of muslim but eventually hatred of Allah's teachings which are advocacy of Justice in each instance of human life. Who's Abdullah (Allah's man) and son of Saba? From where he belonged? What was his intentions? Teachings of Islam could be distorted or misinterpreted not by those who appears to be against or far from it but those who appears to be very close to it.
Reality is apparent and guidance is the truth so seek what's truthful and you will be guided inshallah
