I am sobbing my heart out. I sang in this choir in 1986. (later edit: I sang in this choir, not this song). I am 59 years old. Most of my thoughts of late have been "feeling a little bit low", and here you come and lift us all up again. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Good question, they are so multifaceted! They single in exquisite harmony, in perfect pitch - music in many different languages - English, Xhosa, Zulu, Afrikaans, Sotho, Christian gospel and hymns...
This is indeed the world's best choir. A choir where you can hear all the voices come together as one to produce such magic. The tenors and altos are just amazing. As always, the sopranos and the bass never disappoint. Absolutely fantastic 💯💯💯

Dear South Africa. We hear so much about South Africa's many great problems. But you are stronger than you may know. The fact that this choir, the greatest in the world, is both so diverse and so excellent shows us that. The Land of Music also has many other strong institutions. They are your country's promise.
If only the leaders in SA can understand that working together will be the beginning of a country that works for all of its people! How wonderful is the sound of this South African choir!

Just think. The greatest choir in the world is a bunch of twenty-year-olds. And think too what they show the world about the strengths and potential of South Africa. And don’t forget that even before Andre van der Merwe made this stunning arrangement, Jerusalema had become something close to the world’s anthem, not to mention a worldwide dance phenomenon of historic proportions. Thank you South Africa. You are stronger than you know. Land of Music and more.

Though time and circumstance caused me to leave, hearing the glory and majesty of this choir will always remind me that this family is eternal. That though our voices may not sound with you anymore, but that our souls will forever be bound to the choir in harmony.

Saw André work his magic when he was with the SA Youth Choir and they came to perform at choir festival in Potchefstroom.
I was part of the Northwest Youth Choir back then.

The sadness of this is that it doesn't go on forever and is lost through time. These young people will age and go their separate ways. Andre's layered rich adaption is close to vocal and musical perfection.
That is why I call it a choral tone poem. And he is a genius with layers of harmony, pacing, bringing his choristers to perfection. He has also built a culture of excellence for this choir that means that choir veterans are his allies in bringing new members along. This choir. - and many others in SA - perform at a level above the world average. They also draw richness both from indigenous music and the vibrant SA pop scene.

The original theme was the first song that put my son to sleep in my lap, a week old. Today, at the age of 3, he still gets dizzy when he listens to this song.

I heard this choir live back in 2018 in Wales at the Llangollen Eisteddfod. It was the best choir I ever had the pleasure to listen live to. Just amazing. Their incredible harmony gets me every time!!

I've done choir for five years at my college where we were family and came together to sing incredible choral pieces where we went to different high schools and our main church at college to share our music with. It's something that will be etched in my heart for a long time. I miss my choir so much i graduated two years ago. I come and listen to their music and can't ever get enough of their sound its impeccable. 🥰

I am very excited to hear and see them. I also sing in a choir but since everything started we couldn't go back. I started following it last year when I was in Bindura University in Zimbabwe and I'm always inspired by the outstanding work. shout out to the choir master and all the singers that was beautiful.
