He's south african actually (you can kinda pick the accent out) but he came to Aus as a teenager.

I'm Australian but ive watched so many American shows that to me, Dean's accent really stands out whereas Becca and the interviewer just sound normal haha
Awe Becca is cute. She has like a little nervous habit. She keeps playing with her ring. @1:00 she even takes it off, switches it to her pointer finger, then switches it back to her ring finger lol. Kinda like Dianna Agron who plays with her hands as a habit... Ever noticed it? She even does it on glee when she's in the background. Hehe

When I first saw Geyer on Terra Nova, I didn't care for him much probably because his character never sang and the story was terrible. So glad he's on Glee now.

Actually, he's not. He's born in Johannesburg, South Africa but he and his family moved to Australia when Dean was a teenager and spent a part of his life there, so he's half australian. He started his career on Australian Idol, the aussie version of American Idol.
His accent is South African (since he only moved to Australia when he was older) but why does he say "I am from Australia"? Is it because he went to university there?
