    The hotspot is unlimited data at a max speed of 5 Mbps on both the Visible base and Visible+ plans. I'm currently using the Visible+ plan.

    Just so you know it's pretty easy to set the visible hotspot connect to a small pocket side hub that then you connect all your devices to the hub and have unlimited devices connected to it that allows you to have everything in your home hooked up.
    I bought a used phone for 20 dollars and was paying 25/m that provided whole home internet with visible

    • @tims.467
      @tims.467 Год назад

      That small pocket side hub, is that ethernet wired connections from multiple devices to the hub or is that a wi-fi hub? Which pocket hub did you get? Thanks!

    • @RyanC302
      @RyanC302 Год назад +3

      It’s about the size of a wallet.
      Here is what I did. Since the visible service restricts you to one hit spot connection
      I got a cheap android phone activated visible service on the cheap phone. I then turned on the mobile hotspot on I then plugged the android cell phone into the charger and left it.
      I then bought the Wi-Fi box you tell it to connect to your hot spot.
      Once it connects to the hotspot you then connect to its Wi-Fi not the hotspot. It uses the hotspot then shares a unlimited amount of connections to it.
      So then you go around to all your devices and you connect it to the small box and it will handle the service and the internet through the visible device. Visible will see it as a single device.
      There are many RUclips tutorials on which device to get and how to set it up my device is called aravpower

    I took your advice and switched. I live in north Manatee County Florida. My service is horrible. I have run multiple speed tests and I’m barely getting 1MB down and .03MB up. Thank God I still have internet and a WiFi router. Might want to check your area for coverage before switching. I did check my zip code when ordering and Visible said I would be good, unfortunately that isn’t the case.

    I have visible for my Granddaughter and me. I am happy. Att is my main phone but this gives me more hot spot usage and as I travel in my camper if att isn't working i might have visible. When visible updated my granddaughters phone wasn't compatible. I bought a rebuilt phone from visible for $100. Good price.

    Visible's standard plan is speed throttled and deprioritized, its Plus plan uses "Premium Data", which is not speed throttled or deprioritized, and you get 50GB of full speed hotspot...that's probably the difference, even considering the 5G vs 5G UWB. Both plans include taxes and fees, they're among the better plans out there.

      The key is, “can be throttled”, not must be. I haven’t experienced it yet where I’ve traveled in the west, but am expecting to be throttled if I’m in Quartzite AZ next January.

    • @RyanC302
      @RyanC302 Год назад +1

      Incorrect there is packet shaping and throttling happening 24/7
      The fact that you don’t notice means they are doing a good job at it. But 100 percent your visible connections has caps and limits and as you use it packets are delayed due to the prioritization

  • @RyanC302

    You are slightly incorrect in the understanding of what's happening when you pay more for visible.
    Technically it is indeed getting you access to the ultra wide band of 5g. But the likelihood you are anywhere near a ultra wide band connection i would take the bet. Ultra wide band has a very super short distance that it can work under and if you have a tree in the way it's cut in half.
    What you are really paying for having the bandwidth throttling lifted some on both the download and upload.
    It's easy to offer unlimited data when they can control artificially the amount of data you can use by limiting and capping the data transmission rate.
    Visible on the cheaper plan caps at around 200mbps on non congested networks.
    When you upgrade that limit gets increased. I hope this helps in keeping accurate information for your viewers

    Tim you mentioned before that your old basic plan you were using the hotspot for wifi with unlimited data and no throttling of speed. Have you tried a speedtest of the wifi hotspot on the new plus plan yet? Are you still getting unthrottled speeds and if so what are they? Just curious because I recently upgraded my phone and switched to the basic $25 grandfathered plan and they now cap hotspot download speeds at 5mbps (verified) which isn't good if your need to stream anything in HD or 4k...

    I have xfinity wireless and if you turn on 5G on your phone, you get it at no charge. YMMV. settings> cellular> your number> voice and data> 5G auto. 5G will appear in the upper right when you are connected to a 5G tower. Verizon and others have 5G maps on their website.
