    I love this video. I really wish you would have shown the finished project with your plants inside and your light set up. I’m assuming using an led grow light with this will be okay.

    If on a smaller scale, you can buy a $5-$10 roast chicken and use the container/dome. Wipe and clean it out while still warm to make it easy. Eat the chicken, obviously.

Im not watching these in any order but I appreciate the consistency and quality of all your videos. You are truly in your element🤙

    The easiest way to cut theses if you do not have an electric saw use a hairdryer on the part you want to cut and it will make the plastic really soft so you can slice through it like a peice of bread with the Stanley knife.

    I am going to see about using some net pots on the original lid with a humidity dome top. Now if I can sort out some sort of airstone and nutrients this could help me get a start on spring.

    I would just like to say that a Dremel or similar tool is so worth the money for any do it yourselfer. Save time and would make the job more professional. Aside from that this is a great [project idea. I might incorporate this humidity dome on my upcoming diy aeroponics cloner project.

    A drilled hole and a Copeing Saw may work too. Alternatively Sheet Metal snips may also work

      Or a jig saw or drywall saw. Sawzall is a bit aggressive but if you have all the tools you might as well use them...now I have to buy a plastic hot knife ;-)

    What do you think about the dome being translucent and not transparent? Or am I’m I just being too fussy. It being frosted glass like, how far of a stage did you keep your seedlings in that dome. Did it affected the foliage growth........thanks!

    heres an idea use a water atomizer in the bottom so you only need to fill it an inch of liquid above it and it fills the bottom with water mist - really cool actually you can scoop it lol

    next time you get plastic burrs, just take the razor at a 30-45deg angle, pointed away from you and draw towards yourself. You can shave a bevel that can be swiped off with some high-grit sand paper later. It will also allow you to "whittle" away imperfections in your initial cut, if you're not pre-marking with transfer paper.

    Nice dom. What kind of humility machine are you using for your carnivorous plants ?

    • @TechplantChannel
      @TechplantChannel  4 года назад +1

      None, once i set a light on top, the heat makes the water evaporate really well and the dome is coated with water droplets

    Do you ever have a problem with mold on top of the soil? I made something similar to this for my Pink Princess but now there is always mold on top of the soil.

    • @TechplantChannel
      @TechplantChannel  3 года назад

      no but i have just sphagnum moss which is kinda sterile in a way and doesnt really mold or rot. Regular dirt i would air out more

    • @CortneySalerno
      @CortneySalerno 3 года назад

      I agree and also do you have been oil on hand? That will kill larvae and most fungus associated with plants. Hydrogen peroxide is great too but will kill the good bacteria as well.

    Thanks so much for this GREAT IDEA! I pride myself on creative thinking, but never thought about doing a dome like this.....VERY nice! The clone machines and domes on the market now are ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE....as all the companies want to gouge your cannabis dollar out of you!! SHAME ON THEM! I will be building this soon...and all those clone machine gougers can kiss my backside forever!!

      Ive found some bins will just sit on top of each other pretty well but they wont make a good seal like this method. But if you ahve trouble cutting just find two bins that can sorta rest on each others handles that are "inside" the container if that makes sense

    Put a blow dryer in the storage box to warm it up a few minutes. Keep it on and cut the storage box and it'll be a lot easier. It'll save time and energy my guy.

      Yeah this is very valid for more use cases. I made mine for carnivorous plants so they need to sit in a few inches of water.
