  • Elementor Pro is the top page builder for WordPress but it lacks many tools - a Loop Builder being top among them. Bricks Builder has just released the demo of their Query Loop Builder and it rocks!
    Could this be the one key feature that has many Elementor Pro users jumping ship to Bricks Builder?
    Let's take a look at how the Query Loop Builder works and whether it is the final nail in the Elementor coffin for many loyal users.

    I've been moving away from Elementor for some time now. Their emphasis from day one was releasing features and not so much perfecting the sofware, as updates continue to break sites or features. I purchased Bricks 6 months ago and happy I did....Thomas is a very skilled developer. Thanks again Paul for another great TuT

  • @trifco-studio
    @trifco-studio 2 года назад +3

    Totally agree. Elementor is slowly but surely turning into money extortion scheme. Besides missing custom Query Loops, the most frustrating missing part is their non-existent MEGA MENU option. Elementor tutorial/help page will instruct you to use, yet another pricey (bloatware) "extension"/subscription service, from ((subsidiary shell) third party developer from India?), in order to enable the "Mega Menu" feature in the Elementor Pro. This is almost a deal-breaker for me at this point, since Elementor Pro is a very popular and mature page builder, yet lacks basic "pro" features.
    Maybe the biggest red flag was their extortion level abrupt changes in their Elementor Pro pricing scheme. 🚩
    Thank you very much for your "Bricks" Query Loops video! It was very informative and insightful! 👍

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! Total game changer Paul. Elementor has a lot of "features" but there is a clear trade-off when some fundamental features like the loop builder are available natively. I personally do not (and never will need) lottie animations, so I'm not sure why Elementor felt it important to prioritise that over loops and similar. Great vid as always mate!

    • @bmizzle010
      @bmizzle010 2 года назад +8

      Game Changer.. because of a loop builder? Not hardly. True one has to look at a 3rd party for loop builder, which for me is JetEngine (which comes with so much more power) there is no way possible Bricks can measure up to that AT THIS POINT. And until the plugin / 3rd party tools ecosystem grows substantially for Bricks it will never surpass or come close to Elementor.

    Brilliant demo - thanks Paul. I'm so jealous that I can't get my hands on that yet. Meantime Mr C, it would be great to see a fresh review of Bricks Woo features. I don't know if there's much in the new 1.3.7 release in that area but Bricks Woo filters that were (or are) so promising need some scrutiny and nudging in the right direction as they're not quite usable yet, I don't think, except for very simple unrelated filtering - but can't wait to test the new loop-builder on the product lists, product category loops and cross-sells etc. Great job on the loop-builder from the Bricks team meantime and in the demo - thanks bud.

    Thanks Paul. I should think your effort here will go a long way to waking them up. For sure they understand your influence. This vid will cost them thousands in lost revenue. To be honest, they do appear to have started their own loss of industry position with the change in pricing. People are looking at alternatives .
    I'll bet they now wish they had listened to you when you tried to tell them all year what we need and want. And they gave us Lotties and equal columns.
    Serves them right for putting more effort into figuring out how to rest on their laurels and continue to gouge the up and coming small pro devs working on tight budgets.
    Good on you.

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  2 года назад +2

      I wish I did have some form of influence over their decision making. Sadly, I feel Elementor have a roadmap laid out in front of them that focuses on new customer acquisition over happy customer retention. Since they took the VC investment, my feeling is the direction and the focus of the company shifted and now it's about the numbers and not the product.
      While there are a lot of features in Elementor Pro I really enjoy using, the constant addition of useless (IMO) crap and the avoidance of the tools many feel are important, means that for me, it's lifespan is getting shorter every release.
      I've already moved away from using it on my own main projects in favour of a simplified stack that doesn't use any PBs and this is something that makes updates and maintenance easier and less stressful.

    As an agency with over 70 sites built with Ele, changing builders is a bit like changing banks, it's a pain it the arse. To change builders now would require two licences because which client would be willing to pay for an ele site to be ported to Bricks?

    • @WPTuts

      I agree that it is a PITA to change tools, but as for sustaining 2 licenses, Bricks is currently offering a lifetime deal on unlimited websites. So, the investment could easily be made back on a single page website for a client as opposed to the likes of Elementor and the annual subscription.
      At the end of the day though, the licenses are a cost of doing business and I'm sure you're factoring that into the annual renewals with your clients. :)

    I'm so tired of Elementor. I have to depend on third party tools for every basic feature that it should have built-in given the money we're spending on it. For a blog for example, you have to install Custom Loops plugin. Elementor has every trash built-in(& continue to introduce new garbage) except the useful widgets.

    Why should i buy this builder instead of Oxygen, when this one is very clear is a copy of Oxygen? The UI is somewhere between Oxigen and ELementor.

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  2 года назад +2

      No one is suggesting that you should buy anything. This is more about features that are important if you want to build more custom websites and don't want to rely on 3rd party tools.
      If you're happy with o2, stick with o2. There's no arm twisting here. 😉

    • @Joe-ss9cr
      @Joe-ss9cr 2 года назад

      It's actually - just like Oxygen - a copy of Webflow. And you will have to be blind and prejudiced to not see the difference in the quality of the UI, stability, and backend speed between Oxy and Bricks. I think Bricks is what Soflyy intended to do when creating Oxygen. A better coding team just did it, well, better.
      Personally, I need Bricks to get a few more features done, like CSS-grid and conditional display logic, before I move over from Oxygen, but I see it more and more as a likely scenario. I have a hard time understanding how one could not see this as a superior piece of software compared to clunky and buggy Oxygen (and I love Oxygen and use it for most of my projects).

  • @AljaleyaTV

    Yes but Brick does not have a free trial they need people to purchase even they do know they will like it or not, I don't think this makes sense if they need to compete with Elementor. also they are $79, more expensive than Elementor, did they provide same features? also with Elementor, you can use sections to create loops. Thanks

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  2 года назад +1

      I can’t comment on pricing as that’s a subjective topic. But, Elementor does not offer a way of building loops. You still need 3rd party tools for that.
