    I didn't realise Kelios Downer sold the trams for the NLR (the tram you have in your video cover is a tram that operates in Newcastle, NSW Australia along the Newcastle Light Rail)

      Yes, you're right. I know the tram in the cover isn't for Luxembourg, I only used it to create a contrast between the background and the object. If you watched the video, you'll agree with me that all trams and clips/footages where directly from Luxembourg

    it is much more expensive if people drive everywhere, if people take public transit, they walk more aswell, means to are more inclined to go into a shop, restaurant, bar, cafe whatever. People in cars need a parking space wich costs money, car infrastructure is the most expensive infrastructure there is, maintaining it aswell, look at the usa at how bad their roads are, because they barely have money to maintain. so in a way free public transit is actually cheaper, then having cars and its infrastructure everywhere

      Thanks Lex for your honest opinion. Yes, generally, free public transportation offers a ton of benefits. As you rightly said, "people walk more; are more inclined to go into shops, restaurants, etc. It's also healthier for people to walk than drive their cars around. But there are costs involved, and the users are the ones responsible for the cost, as you can see from the video. There are pros and cons to every project. Luxembourg has done amazing with this no-fair transportation, it's worth copying.

    are they really paying more money in service fees than they would pay in maintaining car infrastructure?

      Yes, they are. The core benefit, however, is the environmental benefit because fewer cars means safer and cleaner environment. It's still an ongoing experiment, so we'll see how it pans out in months/years. Thanks for watching.

There is more profit to get if you think about the increase in gdp by people getting around, People having health benifits and the enviremental cost that accours with CO². Its worth the cost. Now just stop letting cars into the city that are faster than 45 km/h and not e Cars. Problem solved. Works in CH too.
