+zack fair (“Len”) Actually, I think you could with a lot of work and ripping apart other game cartridges and buying weird obscure equipment (See IAmATrackMan for more about this) since this FTM track uses the VRC6 addon which isn't built-in to flashcarts for the NES because of technical reasons.
+TripingPC But to add up on this, if there were to be a cover made only using the 2A03 and maybe the FDS sound channel (on Famicom only) thn it would work right away.
+Rin Kagamine gnkmbvsdvgdsgdd YESSSSS so much YESSS!!! you must save the tangerine but it's dangerous to go alone so..... TAKE THISSSSS *gives a banana peel*
I just realized... So, I absolutely encountered this when I was in highschool. I wasn't familiar with a lot of 8-bit covers and whatnot, but I know I was looking for covers of vocaloid music in general. I know I found this, loved it, and even had it on my Ipod (haha) at some point. Come the 2020's, I find you again, and you're one of my favorite 8-bit artists. Even recommended you to a streamer, and they have your music in the background of some of their Smash streams. I decide to check your older work, and find this again. Seems I knew your work from a long time ago, and didn't even realize it! A nice surprise! Nice to see that you've come so far, and kept up with your work all these years later. I look forward to listening to more.
This is BEAUTIFUL!! I cannot believe it, in a way it sounds so similar to the original, I can hear the instrumental and rin voice in this I don't know why!! Thank you so much for doing this D:
I like vocaloid stuff. In this case, I haven't heard the original, but your rendition sounds really nice. ^^ I actually wasn't sure how a vocaloid track would sound in famitracker since it would be lacking vocals, but you did a great job!
That's because it's all made with the same fairly simple sounds, it's called 8-bit. None of the machines were capable of playing samples (single notes recorded separately) as it demanded too much processing power, so every note was defined by code. As manually writing code to replicate the sounds of real instruments would sound horrible, they created a whole set of "instruments" that filled the roles of various instrument groups.
TeamFlamingStones actually, the NES was capable of sampling. The drums from Mario 3 are sampled, and the same with Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania. The Japanese version of Castlevania III: Dracula’s curse, aka Akumajou Densetsu uses the VRC-6 addon, which the creator of this remix uses. The VRC-6 addon is another sound chip specifically used for sampling, but due to a low budget, Nintendo of America didn’t allow Konami to use it for its release outside of Japan. That’s why the English version of the game has a different soundtrack than the original.
Old video to be asking this on but, could I get a NSF file for this or whatever the famitracker uses? It would be nice to play this on a actual emulator for the fancy quality.
*Final Boss Rin attacks the party!* Miku uses *Leek toss* ! : Deals 100 damage! Luka uses *Sing* ! : The party's stats have gone up! Len uses *Guitar jam* ! : Final Boss Rin's stats have been reduced!
I was just watching a video with this in the background of it. I was listening to it thinking about how good of an 8 bit remix it was so I checked the description to see who did it. I shouldn't have been surprised it was you!

TripingPC the Japanese version of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, aka Akumajou Densetsu is a cartridge and comes with VRC-6, so in theory all you have to do is switch the tracks of that game with this.
Why did people dislike this? it's true that it's from a game lol xD not many people remembered huh? The game is Hatsune Miku: Project Diva. Try it out! it's really fun ^.^ but it's not like this when you play the game so don't get mad at me.
It's such an unexpected but welcome surprise being recommended a 10 year old video of such a cool cover of one of my favorite songs, then realising it's by one of my favorite channels
for some reason, this sounds like either intro or credits music for a movie to me..that would be pretty cool, imagine hearing this on the speakers at a movie theater or something, it would be awesome! would probably give some people a headache but it would still be cool lol

The nice thing about chiptune is that it can hold up after 10 years, though I'm sure the process of making it has improved greatly.
This is just a whole lot of hard work here I bet. Don't you have to type those things manually?
Jolly good show. jolly indeed
Heart Select I beleive you can hook up a midi keyboard and that will work too.
You show me someone doing tracked music with midi keyboard and i will laugh you both out of the door.
jake kaufman
what about him?
@gorauma, Jake Kaufman does music in Famitracker with a Midi Keyboard. I presume that's the point that Cosmic Gem was trying to make.
Who'd ever think that an organized arrangement of beeps and buzzes could make such an awesome remix?!
Fantastic job!
This is so friggin' boss! I picture this as the theme to some kind of steampunk railway town in an RPG or something.

Wow. This is probably the best rendition of any song I've heard done on FamiTracker.
Sounds like an old video game for SEGA(Respectively) and/or Nintendo.

Yeah, it's actually NES. The program he used emulates NES sounds, I think you could even put this in a real NES game, it's compatible.
