Thanks very much for the VFD programming instructional. I just hooked up my AT1-7500X today, looked at the programming guide, and went 'Whaaaaaaaaat????' You simplified it wonderfully.
@@thodrinskyI have a couple of these VFD’s and this was the most helpful video I have found. I changed the settings to 60hz like in the video but my display is still showing 50hz. I am looking for help so my display will show 60hz like I have set the setting too. How can I change the setting so my display shows 60hz?
I don’t have one. But I can tell you that it’s about 1/2 the noise of the previous ingersol Rand piston compressor it replaced. You don’t have to raise your voice to talk over it.
I hook it up with the vfr and it works but gets hot? I'm using it to work a morter sprayer... I bought the digital phase shifter model CPS 7.5HP.....please i need help frustrating 🥺🥺🥺
That is too small a vfd. You need to oversize it. You also need to check your wire gauge vs length of run. You cannot under size the vfd. The motor is 6.5hp. Upgrade your vfd.
@@thodrinsky Just looked it up. That's not how you are supposed to rig it. There's a relay trigger on the VFD you use to turn the output on and off. You just wire one of the voltage outputs on the VFD to the switch and back to one of the inputs. Then wire the VFD directly to the motor.
@@SunsetWingmanwe activate vfd manually with a safety in the shop. We chose not to wire it that way. There is an over pressure switch in the compressor.
Thats what im wondering because i have a converter coming in for mine but i didnt get a vfd. the compressor has 4 wires but the converter has 3 spots for wires. Is one of them not needed?
@@thodrinsky yes they’re mufflers, 100% INTAKE mufflers. They suppress the sound of the intake of each cylinder. Thats where every little bit of air goes into your compressor at.
@@thodrinsky they’re listed as air filters by vevor themselves. If you think the air is going in somewhere else you’re greatly mistaken. The ends of the motors only suck in cooling air for the motors via fan blades.
@@davidouradnik7925if what your saying is true the system would be creating vacuum and not pressure. It’s been running daily for months without issue. We also checked the rotation of the arrow on the motor to certify direction at low speed on the vfd. So I think you’re mistaken.
@@thodrinsky or, maybe it doesn’t matter which direction is rotates since they’re diaphragm pumps….. It would compress regardless of direction. I wonder if motor direction only matters for the actual airflow of the cooling fans in the motors themselves so they don’t overheat.
Yes. You can set the ramp time to whatever you want. In our case we have a quick stop switch in the work area. We turn that on first. then you have to hit start on the VFD and it will ramp at whatever duration you have programmed it to do. We chose a pretty short ramp cycle. Default is something like 10 seconds and we reduced that to 4 or 5.
@ no I just saw your video and finished wiring it and went right to the p1.08 and it only goes up to 50. I’m not sure where to change the input voltage
@@TravisCarriere I have the same question. From some of the other videos I have seen on different VFD you need to set what your source Hz is (aka 60hz) but I am not seeing where to do something like that. the other VFDs it was the first function. (ex P0.01) but not this VFD so I am at a loss too.
@@TravisCarriere Ok figured it out. You have to set P01.10 first. ( Max frequency / AKA 60Hz) Then P01.08 and P01.12 will let you change the value to what ever the max frequency you set in P01.10 (60Hz) if not the default is 50Hz.
That’s because those aren’t exhaust ports. They’re intake ports and should have vacuum. Not sure if he pointed incorrectly or doesn’t know how it works..
I recently purchased a used Campbell Hausfeld 80-gallon, 7.5 hp, vertical, two-stage, three-phase air compressor. I purchased the same Vevor VFD, but I have questions about how the pressure switch is wired. Do you have a picture of it? With the cover off, the wire inputs are shown. Thanks for sharing
Man I was so hopeful. I need help with setup on this same vfd, for my milling machine! You're talking too fast and not fully explaining each step. Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't make sense of it.

Glad it helped
Very useful information 👌
Glad you found it useful. I might do one on the VFD programming on its own next.

Fantastic setup.
Hi
Would you have a picture of the electrical wiring at the panel from the breaker to the vfd?
Tks
Thanks for the video! The programming should come in handy. What AMP fuse are you connected to for the VFD to be wired to your 220V; 60 or 100?
Can you show us the wiring connections on vfd
Thanks for your tutorial , much appreciated. i do have a question, how did you get it to 60HZ. I cannot get it past 50HZ..
Do you have a video of the air compressor actually running? It just sounded like the VFD fan was running.

I have not had a chance to run it. It’s 1/2 the decibels of a piston compressor. It’s still loud. But you can talk over it easily.

You didn’t mention how the pressure switch works with the system. Does it go inline between the VFD and the motor? Or before the VFD
The pressure switch is on the compressor. It has nothing to do with the vfd. Vfd is just the power supply.

Do you know how to do a factory reset on this VFD? I think I entered a few incorrect values in unknown locations.
Any updates on the compressor?

That “exhaust” you pointed at is the intake and is SUPPOSED to create vacuum.
Those are mufflers. The intake is on the side of the motor on each side.

How does it ramp as compressor starts and stops, when the compressor turns on, does the vfd auto restart ramp process?
