Ah, man, this is too smooth... well, the intro anyway.😅 Talk about a shift in energy, though! Here, you've pretty much got 2 songs for the price of 1, and they're both cool in their own way. That beginning section has such a nice, gentle rhythm, with the ride cymbal, finger snaps, and hi hat. The minimalist percussion works superbly to set the tone and keep the rhythm going. And dude, that descending bass run at 0:14 - too good! It's cool how it overlaps with the lead as it hits the lowest notes, although I have no clue what instrument or synth it lead even is, but it sounds like nothing I've ever heard before. It's really cool, how the shape of the sound changes so much as that filter on it adjusts, leading into the harder section. Really liking the beat and instruments in the main section, as well. You've got the signature NostalJack jazz trumpet, with all those nice grace notes and pickups. And although I'm not familiar with the original theme, I'm sure there are some cool melody variations in the arrangement, as well! Also, that wavering/gated instrument sounds so cool, how it's bounces in like a quick 6/8 rhythm - it's definitely my favorite instrument in this remix. :D So, uh, wow... that first Leorio voice clip completely caught me off-guard, and it definitely made an impact! Repeating the "oOoOoO" part of his name on the beat is such a creative touch, man, and I'm sure it takes a good amount of work to get it to sound so tight like that. And dude, the "Sorry... I hope you'll forgive me for being rude" line was impeccably timed! The line has a bit of inherent rhythm that just lined up with your track superbly, and the fact that it's more of an unwieldy line of dialogue makes it all the more impressive. I can see now why you put Leorio's voice actor in the title (not gonna lie, though, I thought at first that you had done a collab with a remixer named Matthew Mercer 😂). Mad props for the creative approach, man - your songs never cease to surprise me! 🌟
Thanks man!!! Wow, I really appreciate this breakdown! I had so much fun with this remix, significantly more than I usually do (and don’t get me wrong, I usually have a lot of fun remixing) and I love how it turned out! I spent a lot of time playing around with those voice clips and getting them to all fit this weird amalgamation of jazz to lofi to hip hop, so I’m really glad someone appreciated so many of the finer touches!! I appreciate you, brother!! 🙏🏼
