Fasting was his choice, can't blame fasting now. If you know the religion, you should also know that you are not obligated to fast if you know you're about to have a really tough day (bleed, sweat, etc.), you could easily pass out, he is not a professional athlete where he has paid doctors who monitor his condition during that period of time. Respet for getting in the ring though!
