I would personally like to thank everyone who has left such heart felt comments about Steve. Steve's son Tim knew his dad liked to mountain bike but it wasn't until he got sick that he learned just how important Steve was to so many people. These comments will show Tim just how highly Steve was regarded and how much people loved him. Thank you once again.❤
Great tribute to a great mate. Sad to learn of his passing. I'm part of a similar riding group here in Australia. Sunday rides are my mental health day as well.
So sorry for your loss Guys. He was so fortunate to have such a great bunch to ride with in his last years. Lovely tribute. Agree we must make the most of our time here. 😢
Mate so sorry to hear about Steve, his families loss and your groups loss. You are so right when you say not to put off the bucket list items as you never really know. We have a similar group of riders here locally that formed much like yours. Group is called the Spokesmen.. we also lost one of the guys just on 12 months ago and similarly to the rapid and unexpected onset of cancer. We still celebrate his life on rides.
Spokesmen. I like it. Sorry to hear about your friend. I am guessing in almost every one of these groups we have sadly lost one of our members to cancer. I guess that is life but it sucks.
Just come across this channel, and I can relate to the dad’s army thing being in a group of over 50’s here in Lancashire. Sat here with a tear in my eye.. Rip Steve❤
He was a special man to many ! What fantastic memories you gave Steve with your mtb adventures together . He will live on in all the great footage you have . Lots of love to his family in this difficult time.
So sorry to hear you lost your good mate Lance. We have a good MTB mate in a similar situation, he recently did the Kaimanawa Descent with us and had the biggest smile on his face for the helicopter ride up, but finds it hard now to do the bigger rides. You're right about getting out there while you can, and I think every one of us who do the sport probably think that way about life, just get into it while you can and are able. A friend and I zoomed past you at the bottom of Rowdy Neighbour this past Saturday. We would of stopped but you were chatting to someone about Italy at the time.
Sorry to hear about your mate. It almost seems like an epidemic at our age. Come say hello next time. We are always talking more than riding. People coming up to me and saying they enjoy the channel is the biggest motivation to keep going.
@@bestdayevermtb2 Yeah its good to look after yourself for sure. Yes will make sure I do next time. The channel is defanitely appreciated and love watching all the different locations you get to. Please keep it up :)
This was genuinely heartbreaking to watch. I didn’t know Steve, but had met and chatted with him and a few of the Dads Army crew at Woodhill at the odd trailhead. It’s because of Steve and the crew that I am now on an eBike. I was inspired to go e, through watching all of your exploits over the years. Condolences to Steve’s family. He made a difference in this world and that counts for a lot.
You are right he did make a difference to many peoples lives. Just getting people out riding and staying fit and having fun is an awesome thing to achieve
I would give anything for one more train down Eagle vs Shark with Steve - this is a beautiful tribute Lance, I've been struggling with words, but you have summed up how much he meant to all of us so well, so many epic memories ❤
Thanks Robyn. I know we are all dealing with this in our own way. For me I want people to know how amazing Steve was and to celebrate his achievements.
What a great tribute to Steve, having ridden with Dad’s Army occasionally over the years I know what a tight bunch you are. He will be greatly missed but will live on with so many memories over the years. Cheers Gyro
Lance, so sorry to hear of your buddy's passing, we lost one of our guys a couple of years ago, he had just turned 60 and was one of the fittest blokes I knew, still sadly missed. Hope you and the blokes fill the void left by Stevo with lots of great memories and keep his memory well and truly alive 😇❤
Sorry to hear about your friend, It seems so many people get taken way too early. Must admit our group seems very dysfunctional at the moment. Nobody wants to take Steve's place so everybody is sort of doing their own thing.
What a great tribute to a man who was obviously well loved and a timely note to make the most of the time we all have. My thoughts with you all at this time.
Hey Lance, building trails in the forest i would always come across Steve and have a good chat, such a great guy and a Riverhead local legend and guide. I will be naming my latest trail in Riverhead "Steve" if that is OK with the people who matter, hopefully ready for summer. Cheers Perry
Hi Perry. Steve loved Riverhead forest , in fact I believe his ashes will be spread there. Calling the track Steve would be great. I believe Matt Munford is also doing something similar. I am happy to make a sign with a plaque as well.
I've been watching your videos for years now and you guys have become my extended riding group. I feel like I have also lost a buddy even though I never met Steve. This is a superb tribute to him and I hope that Dad's Army continue to Shred For Steve. Take care of yourselves and look after each other. ❤

Retired now I finally have time to ride all the great rides all around the US so I’ll keep riding til I cannot! You do the same! I started carnivore this year and I’ve finally dropped the stubborn weight and feel much better, hopefully will add a few years to my riding.

Anytime matey you guys are awsum.always watch your vids and learn some stuff. Biking is in our blood and having the support around keeps us going. You have mine by the way.👌🙏🤙
That was a really nice tribute to your mate who sadly died. Like you mate I’m also 55 but I still ride like a 25-year-old trust me. Still quicker than a lot of people half my age. Age is just a number, it’s how you feel mentally.
I love it when I ask to join some youngsters on a lap. You can see they don't think I will be able to keep up. Seeing their reaction at the bottom is priceless.
Sorry to hear. I lost a riding buddy to Melanoma. As Lance said we need to look after ourselves guys.
I need to take my own advice as I seldom go to see the doctor. We are getting to that age though when things start to go wrong.
RIP Steve. Sorry for your loss
So sorry to hear this sad news mate. RIP Steve, our condolences to you and the whole dad’s army in this time of sadness for you all. What a great tribute to a great friend!
Thanks Paul. Really appreciate that.
