It makes no sense now that a woman is free to leave any moment. Just imagine that you buy a car and your dealer has a right to claw it back any moment they want it 😉. So, I would be extremely negative towards paying Sin Sod in more then a symbolic amount (like 10 000 baht). @@thaitalkwithdan I know a guy that visited his friend in a rural part of Thailand he ended up marrying a local women judging by her pictures age 19 to 21 when he was about 45 after a wedding ceremony and paying her father money and some ceremony where he upset everyone basically he was given some food to eat and then he was supposed to give it back but he have some to the dog instead once he realised what he done I'm not sure if this is premeditated but he basically run away his friend was Furious as he now lived in the local area and was constantly phoning him my friend tried to claim that he did not understand they were getting married which everyone know was a lie but in a legal term he never got bothered by ever again it's not like he comes back to the UK and the woman had in the legal right to his assets but I don't think I'll ever be going back to Thailand again not sure if it was a legally binding marriage there or not

Irrespective of age, men who let their Willies think for them are liable to do very stupid things and get themselves into lots of trouble. And a family man who hits midlife crisis, realising they are in a rut and getting old, are more likely to act out their youthful desires irrespective of the risks to their existing relationship. Some women do this too, not sure what body part rules them, but expect it’s mainly middle-aged men.
My wife is from the Philippines. I was young a broke when we met and we are still married after 26 years. The hardest part was living the way they lived for a week or two in poverty without them noticing that you were mortified at how hard it was to survive.

Whatever was going on with this guy was started long before he went to Thailand the first time. It would be more interesting to know how the 5 years before this story had gone. Based on his actions, he was and most likely still is spiritually lost. He is longing for something, anything to fill a huge void in his life and is looking anywhere, everywhere but the right place- God and church.

Its not the bargirls fault. Its very much the men's fault. Most of these men have personal lives that are a crash waiting to happen long before they ever get to Thailand. Most if not all are in short broken, regardless if by their choices or someone else's (spouses). Most didn't and have not dated a lot, got married early, can't/don't want to make the best of the marriage, then go looking for something to fill that void. I personally know several men that are married have one of the following- the women are #1 never satisfied no matter what you do for them. #2 the woman is verbally abusive, #3 the men are trapped for fear of paying child support. #4, the men themselves have had unrealistic expectations of marriage and their wife I could go on and on. They are all spiritually lost looking to fill that void that makes them fill empty and hollow. Some turn to alcohol, others drugs, for some men- its women.

Worked a 12 month contract at a clinic in the Philippines. While I was there, it came to light that two of the nurses were working a scam with half a dozen Filipina. The girls would turn up at the Clinic for their "treatment" and an invoice would be issued. Needless to say, the Western males would pay the bills. The wife had to be naive he wasn’t going to fly to Thailand, esp. Pattaya- just to vacay. Just typing in Pattaya in Google search auto fills with”sex tourism”.
He hadn't even cleaned up his situation at home before proposing. In this day and age, a woman like her has to EARN the ring. She earns it by being genuine. Also, I would never even go down the path of a legal wedding. Some of these men need to get their heads out of their asses.

@@thaitalkwithdan I know a guy that visited his friend in a rural part of Thailand he ended up marrying a local women judging by her pictures age 19 to 21 when he was about 45 after a wedding ceremony and paying her father money and some ceremony where he upset everyone basically he was given some food to eat and then he was supposed to give it back but he have some to the dog instead once he realised what he done I'm not sure if this is premeditated but he basically run away his friend was Furious as he now lived in the local area and was constantly phoning him my friend tried to claim that he did not understand they were getting married which everyone know was a lie but in a legal term he never got bothered by ever again it's not like he comes back to the UK and the woman had in the legal right to his assets but I don't think I'll ever be going back to Thailand again not sure if it was a legally binding marriage there or not

And a family man who hits midlife crisis, realising they are in a rut and getting old, are more likely to act out their youthful desires irrespective of the risks to their existing relationship. Why would you fall in love with a bar girl 🤔. I met a Scottish man at a bar when I was in Aberdeen. He asked if I believed in the potency of Voodoo since I was from Nigeria. Its not the bargirls fault. Its very much the men's fault. Most of these men have personal lives that are a crash waiting to happen long before they ever get to Thailand. Most if not all are in short broken, regardless if by their choices or someone else's (spouses). Most didn't and have not dated a lot, got married early, can't/don't want to make the best of the marriage, then go looking for something to fill that void. I personally know several men that are married have one of the following- the women are #1 never satisfied no matter what you do for them. #2 the woman is verbally abusive, #3 the men are trapped for fear of paying child support. #4, the men themselves have had unrealistic expectations of marriage and their wife I could go on and on. They are all spiritually lost looking to fill that void that makes them fill empty and hollow. Some turn to alcohol, others drugs, for some men- its women.

Worked a 12 month contract at a clinic in the Philippines. While I was there, it came to light that two of the nurses were working a scam with half a dozen Filipina. The girls would turn up at the Clinic for their "treatment" and an invoice would be issued. Needless to say, the Western males would pay the bills. Interestingly, the $6 vitamin shot turned into a $300 invoice. Now each girl would come in with six to eight Western guys over a few weeks. They didn't see a problem with this ..... The reply was "They f**k, they pay".
