Although a Texan, I currently reside in Virginia. I occasionally take road trips, usually from VA to TX. I like to change my route from time to time. I have driven on I-64, which goes right by Frankfort, KY. On a recent return trip from Texas, I stopped in Frankfort and toured the city, along with the state capitol. I must say that I was impressed with Frankfort and the state capitol. I would recommend seeing it!
I agree. Frankfort is a very charming place. And you can experience a lot of things, without being overwhelmed by the metropolis atmospheres of a lot of the other State Capitols. Since you drive on 64 a lot. I would suggest stopping into Midway at least once, which is right off of 64, and right before Frankfort. A very unique little railroad town, where the train runs right through the middle of the town. There are 4 or 5 restaurants/bars downtown. Which is unheard of something that small. Very cool, unique little town. Check it out sometime
I'm from the area and my husband coached Logan Woodside when he was young. I worked there for several years after my husband passed away. I have a lot of nice memories of Frankfort.
Just subscribed. I love videos and love tours of the cities! I have been to Augusta, ME! I've also been to Concord, NH and thought that sm, so surprised that wasn't on the tiniest list. I plan to watch all your video. I enjoy them. You are funny and you just LOVE Walmart!
Made a random over-nite here, on the way back north from North Carolina . It was late & dark and never SAW Frankfort . So this video brings it all back around . Cool 👍
Man, you missed a lot of really cool downtown local businesses and pretty cool history on the brewery that is present in downtown, Sig Luscher. All in all very cool video! You should definitely come back in the summer to see the thriving night life that downtown Frankfort has to offer!
Drove past Frankfort in the interstate many times but never seen it. It was good to see you on Nick's video on his Cairo video. I'm actually watching your channel a lot more lately.
When I filmed this it was the first time that I’ve ever been through Frankfort, even though I used to not live that far away. And oh yes, Cairo is a fascinating place.
@@ChrisHarden Just want to let you know this is my favorite RUclips channel and curious if you have any plans for ways us fans can support the channel beyond watching videos? I heard you mention Patreon before but other channels don't get much from that. Some people sell various merchandise. Looking forward to more great videos.
I’ll think about it. I have ideas on how to expand on other platforms and maybe sell some stuff. Won’t be able to implement anything new for a while still.
As someone from Scotland, I can't believe I got the chance to see how beautiful this place is I will always be thankful I got the opportunity to enjoy as much as I could... the weather was so hot nothing like it was here... I hope I visit again
Excellent video and Frankfort is both pretty and remote which makes it interesting. Drove through on a leisurely drive from the Indianapolis area to Charleston SC. That is the trip I realized that Indiana hill country starting just SW of Indianapolis actually continues right into Kentucky and then to the Appalachian Mountains. Frankfurt is an unexpected jewel worth a visit as this beautiful well narrated video illustrates.
17:13 THAT government building (literally "The State Office Building" houses the Department of Revenue and Personnel. I am recently disabled however worked for Revenue for 15 years. My partner still works here.
This is my little hometown. There’s actually a little distillery down in Millville ky, between Frankfort and Versailles called Old Crow, my great aunt worked there.
I watch your MI videos, it surprised me to see you in my area. Every city has those shit semi-modern commercial areas, but the historical places can't be denied. I love it in Kentucky.
I went to middle and high school in Frankfort, lived about 8 blocks from the capitol building. It's definitely a cute little town, although was rather uninteresting for a teen, but that's where road trips to Lexington came in pretty clutch.
Nice small town vibe downtown with clean but non-descript sprawl of a bedroom community which would be comfortable enough if you don't mind long daily commutes.
" this is Western hills and their sport teams go by the wolverines, GO BLUE!" ... My man, our colors are Green, silver and white How did you even find out what our mascot was but somehow did not see the kelly green everywhere on the school websight???
Coming from someone who live smack in the middle of this city you missed SO much! Im curious from where or who you get the information you put in the video? Nothing negative it a great video. But you could probably make a whole second video of the things you missed. Look me up if your ever back in the area.
Go to Fort Hill or the covered bridge outside of town late at night on a full moon and ask some questions and see if you don't get answers. Still finding tons of Bones in the ground there.
I’m going to go back to rural Illinois one day and get all of the decently sized towns that I haven’t made videos on yet. Just don’t know when that will be.
@@ChrisHarden ok well Murphysboro should be one of the towns it's history is rich with tales of the big muddy monster to the tri state tornado to the downfall of the factories so just as long as you do it i'm happy : )
I was also surprised of the crime rate here when I moved here also a huge housing problem. I was scamed into my apartment and when I reported them no one seems to care. It's like they are ok with renting condemned, black mold, lead paint, and bed bug infested apartments. I'm seriously considering leaving this small town.

Louisville is the capital of Kentuckys economy. It's the only major city in the state.
Nope. Most of the time the states capital is not it's largest city
