The fuse should have been installed within 18” or so of the battery terminal to protect from short circuit current and protect you from fires in case the length of wire running to the back gets cut.

Can i get a link for the specific electrical wires you used to run from the battery to the kit?

Sorry, I don't have a link for the wires we used. I had some extra laying around with the inline fuse in it. So long as you use the same gauge wire or bigger than what is on it you'll be good.
