Yes, Jackie's songwriting and composing is in the alternative indie pop genre which is created by artists outside the mainstream and considered more original, challenging, or eclectic than traditional pop music. The genre originated in the late 70s, formed on the then-novel premise that one could record and release their own music instead of having to procure a record contract from a major label. Jackie is an independent artist who has total control of her music as a writer, composer and co-producer. Although she has her own recording label, JE Touring, under which her album, The Debut, was released, her music is presently being recorded under a small Nashville label, Melody Place Records, that allows her the creative control she demands. Her latest album, Carousel of Time, a tribute to Joni Mitchell's folk/pop music, was released by Melody Place.

I don't think she is beating it. She is thinner than she's ever been. Her legs are stick thin and you can see the bones in her chest. She's so talented but she is well. She needs help before it's too late. As someone that has been in the grips of an ED for a very very long time getting well isn't easy but it's so worth it. Jackie is still in the grips of ANA.
@@Jaisee14 She looks healthier than she did two years. I think she is quite attractive at her present weight, as do others. How can you supposedly see the bones in her chest when she's wearing a flesh-colord under-garment? It's not necessarily unhealthy to be thin. She has been under professional care with ongoing therapy since a serious relapse in late 2020 when she was absent from the public for a year while being treated. She said 3 months ago, "I'm in a much better place now, you don't have to worry". She acknowledges that it's a life-long struggle, but she IS beating it. She's been modeling for Harper's Bazaar and New York Post in addition to fashion shoots for her her own promotion. Don't be propogating the idea that she is not aware of her condition or not doing anything about it.

Reminds me of an 80s song
Jackie's new original music is reminiscent of the 80s....."It's the way I write", she says. She grew up listening to artists of that era with her dad, and has an affinity for the Alternative pop/rock genre created by independent artist who produce there own music through smaller labels that support their work. Now, she's writing, composing and producing her own.

What are you sorry about? Jackie is her own career manager, happier than ever doing what she has wanted to do since she was a child.....writing, composing and producing her own music. She has been an independent artist since age 18 in complete command of her career and her music working with her co-producer, Greg Camp, founder of and former lead guitarist/songwriter for the rock band, Smash Mouth (playing guitar in this video). Her label is Melody Place Records of Nashville who released her last album, Carousel of Time (2022), a tribute to legendary singer/songwriter, Joni Mitchell.
She released her 8th album (The Debut, 2019) to hit #1 on the Classical Chart under her own label, JE Touring, and under her creative control.
Behind My Eyes is the first song on her new album (EP) of original songs, "Solla", released May 3rd. It has also been playing on Adult Contemporary radio, hitting the AC top 50 chart at #17. It's her first song ever to get national radio play, and she is thrilled.
Gifted songwriter as well as singer. Wish the volume on her voice had been set up better.

Just do comforting things….nature, inspirational music 🎶….when I felt down and was afraid, all I could say was the Lord’s Prayer every night, but gradually I was able to say what I wanted to. And also at first, I could only read one or two verses of scripture a day on my own, and I had to have a nice girl read with me if I did a little more. Sometimes that’s all of the spiritual you can do, and the rest has to be things that are also comforting, but not diving into the spiritual yet. We need balance in our lives anyway….it’s okay.
Jackie is an artist. So...if she wants to spread her voice to different genre and such...so be it. I like her original sound/genre. But, that's me. However, I will give an ear to her new music. Why not?
Jackie is perhaps the most versatile young soprano vocalist of this century, able to sing everything from opera to pop. She continues to perform her classical crossover repertoire in concert and will likely incorporate a couple of her original songs into her setlist.
@@cl9786 And...that is what a versatile artist (vocalist) does...doesn't discard her "original" music-genre. (I, for one, don't think she is a "cancel out" type of young lady). @@TheTeaLeavesKnow Jackie demonstrated recently in interview with JuJu Chang on "Nightline" that she uses different parts of her vocal apparatus, different techniques, to sing classical and pop. That's why she often refers to her "classical voice" and her "pop voice" , and also her "Broadway voice" (a combination depending upon the type of Broadway song). Typically a classical crossover singer is classically trained and sounds classical when singing a pop song. Jackie has never had classical training but has trained her voice to adapt to different genres. A surprising example is her live performance at the Rockwood Musical Hall in New York of a couple of rock songs from the rock musical, "Get Jack", cutting loose as one might expect from a teenager.
I presume you've seen her performances as "Kitty" on The Masked Singer, where she demonstrated her versatility, singing pop, country, Broadway, pop ballads and Soul Funk.
@@cl9786 Yes...I have seen "Kitty" and was pleasantly surprised to see the faces of the panel and audience when the mask came off. To me, it appeared that people were like..."hey, this gal has a lot more to delight us with - not just her "original" music, but...versatility, wit, charm, sense of humor, and being a good sport!". (Those talent-type shows can be a little corny😁.) But, of course, this particular show is that of showcasing the various artists and their talents/versatility that we (the audience/fans) would scratch our heads at. Surprise, surprise😊👍

I liked her better when she used her incredible voice to sing those classical songs and dressed like a princess.
She grew up. But she still sings those classical songs in concert with the same "incredible" voice. and now dresses like an adult.

Yes, i love Grace also, they came to light on the same venue AGT a few years apart, both singer song writer prodigies, at such a young age Jackie 10 and Grace 12 you don't see the future as you thought it would be, Hollywood is a hard place to grow up if your all of a sudden put in a place where every one wants a piece of you, so many demanads for a child to nagociate through and the greedy money hungry producers, agents, industry heads only care to make money, no matter what a child is put through, i give all of these prodigies like Jackie, Grace Darcy, Courtney, Angelica, Kadie, and so many more a big thank you for their amazing talent, also for making it out alive, I lived in Hollywood, grew up there, was a extra with my twin brothe was in bands won competitions, and today at 75 still performing, its the draft that ended my our big break, but we still perform here in Vegas, so when you see a child with amazing skills remember, that they are children that are going to be tested by there amazing skill and pray they make it out of the grips of greedy producers, agents, and Hollywood, the most evil place for a child prodigy to servive!!!

Though it was not "empty" by any means, at age 10 Jackie performed a solo concert at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. She was accompanied by The Houston Chamber Choir and The Treble Choir of Houston for the last song. Her performances were so impressive that to this day the event is called "The Houston Concert".

She tends to whisper, rather than belt her lyrics. Most sound mixes are setup for the majority of pop singers who practically scream. No wonder this is an ongoing issue on appearances. However, the beauty of the vocals can't be denied. :)

The musicians needed to turn their amps down a bit.
Thank you. I thought they were too loud compared with her voice too. And I know from social media that they performed this song in street clothes earlier that morning, to figure out how her performance would be filmed / do a sound check. Someone was a little off their game in the sound check department in my humble opinion.
I find that a lot of Jackie's television performances seem to have the problem of the music being either too loud or too soft. There doesn't seem to be a problem with any of her live concert recordings, even the cell phone ones. Just TV morning talk shows and the like seem to have funny sound issues🤷🏼♀️

That’s the lead single? That’s gonna be a terrible album I’d skip this track even as filler on an album. I think it’s best she stays in her lane because her voice isn’t suited for this style.
This is one of 5 original songs to be released on an EP in March. The song is about her experience with mental illness associated with anorexia which she has been dealing with since age 15....about the fear of losing one's mind. It is deeply personal, courageous and relatable to those who suffer as she has. Writing and composing her own music is an essential part of her healing process, what she calls a "therapeutic endeavor". This "style" is the way she writes which happens to be in the alternative/indie pop genre, and not meant to showcase her classical voice. It's not expected to appeal to everyone, although it is being well received by her fans and those who who relate to it in their own way. She continues to perform in her classical crossover style, "in her lane" as you put it.
If you don't relate or appreciate it, that's fine, but at least respect this effort at songwriting, composing and producing her own music.
Young independent just starting out with her own sound. I think she has a few demons to exercise, from childhood fame. Thats ok she is in a position at 23 where she can do as she pleases. Unbeholden to any of the industry crumbs.

She says, "encourage your radio station to play Behind My Eyes, by Jackie Evancho. She is really exited to have her first original acknowledged for radio.
I feel like this song was safe for her voice. I love her and understand she needed to write her feelings and get stuff off her chest, but when she was on the masked singer she really showed the diversity in her voice, she covered some really difficult stuff from Amy winehouse and Celine dion, so I feel like she’s holding back here. I wouldn’t say it was really bad, but really safe and easy for her ability.

She transitioned from opera at age 12 with her album, Songs From the Silver Screen, released in 2012. In fact, she has recorded/performed only 3 opera arias her entire career, all recorded at age 10.

She's not a President Trump supporter. She sang The National Anthem @ the 2017 Presidential Inauguration as a service to our country. Dozens of prominent democrat politicians were there and most were not required to be there. Some even gave speeches. All of them applauded President Trump's speech. None of them are President Trump supporters.
She only sang at his inauguration when she was still basically a child. That doesn't mean that she is a Trump supporter 🙄
She was invited by the inaugural committee to sing in honor of her country as she had done many times before. That is the purpose of the national anthem which by law is required to be performed at all national events. She had no interest in politics, not even old enough to vote or have a driver license.
She's an Obama supporter. She sang at multiple official DC events for his administration, from the National Christmas Tree Lighting [for Michelle and the girls], to the National Prayer Breakfast, to 4th of July, and Memorial Day events at the Capitol. I guess that means she's also a Biden supporter, since it was technically the Obama/Biden administration.

@@nicholaswhitson6573 The only thing similar is the rhythm with strong accent on the 2nd and 4th beat using rim shot method on the snare drum, which is a standard drum rhythm in Rock and R&B music, along with the tapping on the high hat. The lyrics and melody are different, and especially the message.
@@cl9786 the melody of the chorus as well as the cadence are similiar enough to consider a court case, for sure. No one cares about the messaging. In music plagiarism that’s the easiest part to get thrown out
Ummm... for me it was just okay. Not World breaking or anything special. Song Choice means a lot. Jackie you should "experiment" with some baroque singing like Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi & Bach. Also hire a vocal coach to help with your phrasing & breath control. I know you could do it & THAT would be impressively beautiful!

She's had 8 consecutive albums hit #1 on the Classical Chart in multiple genres. Now she's writing, composing and producing her own music.
