Well I sunk the legs of my reel into a concrete pad so I was extremely relieved when I saw this workaround for the belt replacement. Just finished fixing it. Ordered the belt through Amazon and fits great. I used a 3/8” wrench for the two nuts. Those were really difficult to put back on. I used a small piece of 3M double face tape to hold it on my fingertip. Very little room. Also you have to pry out the front roller housing a bit to get it off. THANKS AGAIN for the video. Saved me some bucks $$$ because I really like the reel.
Very helpful video, thank you for making it. V-Belt Guys currently discounting this belt to $1.85 (from $4.96). Might be junk but I rolled the dice since current Amazon price is $17.
Thanks so much for posting this! I too got the same message after waiting three week for AMES customer service to respond to me. I called them to ensure they did not in fact have the belt replacement, they did not. I explained to them that is like not have replacement tires for an automobile, it is the most needed replaceable part. I went on to say that luckily someone has posted a work around on purchasing from Amazon, and since AMES does not have a place to leave a review, I would make sure to give a note on Amazon of how shady of a practice this is. Told them its a great product and will buy again. Shame
See if you can find the belt other places also, the price on Amazon seems to range from $4 some days to $15 other days. What is tragic is that AMES clearly has a source for these belts and could resell them for cheap to their customers.
@@garrettscott9427 Hey Garrett, I appreciate it. I have already ordered from Amazon for ~$15 which is ok with me. Its a great reel, best I have ever had. It is a shame that they offer the feet, and the handle, but not the belt, seems shady at best. I was about to go purchase new when I came across your post. Thank you for taking the time to post this for others that are handy enough to repair their own stuff and not letting us get ripped off for no reason.
@@pupswups you are welcome! Glad to help out. And yeah same here , this unit is built like a tank and I plan on getting many more years of use out of it.

@@DrewLukac I have not. A guy at lowes told me to just buy a new one then, take the new handle out and return the rest for a refund. Lowes will take anything back if you have the box and receipt. But I can't bring myself to do that.
@@Mumbley2020 That explains why I purchased a NEW range hood from Lowe's...got it home...only to find that someone had replaced some of the internal parts with their old broken ones and returned it for a refund. Lowe's doesn't bother to check.
Somebody has the belt for Model #: 2519100 Hose Reel made by Ames. This is a metal cabinet like the one showing in video. Surely, the manufacturer gets their belts from somebody. Need a belt to fix my hose reel and prefer one that the manufacturer AMES installs but OEM would do. Awaiting now on Ames to get back with me. I called and they say the belt is not a replacement part.
I dont regret my purchase but they for sure could take care of their customers better. Selling common replacement parts like belts should be common place.
Here is the Amazon Link to the belt. The price varies a lot throughout the year.

A HUGE THANK YOU Garrett. This is AWESOME!! We have two of these Reels and love them but it's time for a new Belt on one.
Thanks so much for posting this. Was about to toss my hose reel. Ordered a replacement belt from V-Belt Guys and anticipate being able to repair it.
You are welcome!

Nice. That was an 8mm wrench he had in his hand in case anyone missed it. Great product except for the belt not being available.

Thanks for the belt info.. I just ordered..
I have 2 and they have worked great for 4 years. Belt just started coming off. I play to buy another they rewind very ease and last.
I really like mine also! Tragic that they don't want to sell the belt themselves.
Mine is an AMES 2517100 NeverLeak and doesn't have the same cabinet, for 'easy' disassembly.
Thanks!
What belt model?
Do you have a link to the replacement part? I'm not finding it on Amazon or Ebay. Thanks!

Just ordered one from this site. A comment indicates it fits the Ames hose reel.
I broke the Handle on the side of mine. I have been unable to locate a replacement part. Do you have any suggestions? I know the part# 2519101
Did you end up finding a handle? Same thing happened to me.

I own three AMES 2517100 NeverLeak cabinets. Two of them have gone bad. They are different model than the one above, but look to have the same handle.
