Mines failing and so is the torque converter. I think the valve body is leaking and not sending enough pressure. Shifts reallllllly hard going into third gear. Coming down to my Phoenix to work for the summer really added stress to it. Seeing trans temps climb to 190. Have it scheduled to be rebuilt next week with upgraded valve body new torque converter and they’re going to pin the thermostat open as well.
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 w,s,n ? What family is that I was thinking about replacing the 545 in my 1500 for the 66rfe. I like the gear spread much better
Sorry was having a mental moment there 😃 anywho yes they are very much the same trans. If your wanting to upgrade to the 66rfr style you can build the internals the same and it will work.
I'm having alot of problems finding a auto for a 6.4 hemi 4wd. Any clues where I can get a good used 1? A new 1 is a joke. Had a few ppl actually laugh when I ask. And laugh again when I say this gonna cost about 1000 bucks? Lmfao no times that by at least 3. Wtf??
Fantastic video. Doing the same truck year. Slips when it hits 4th
This is just a 45 Rfe 22 years later..Transco recommends leaving out the flapper valve in the pump
it cracks me up on how little Chrysler wants to innovate, just keep building off the old designs.... gotta start on a new slate too to get somewhere
@@edwardmyers1746 the RFE is a pretty good trans. has its issues but they’re fixable luckily.
@@TheSavage3.6 they are an easy rebuild yes... but they suck for towing.
My 2017 ram 2500HD 5.7 hemi currently in the shop for a new 66RFE. My U joints were seized at one point. I replace both sides.

Heck yeah
سلام .ممنون . ❤️❤️
Is this essentially the same transmission as the 545rfe externally and internally, besides the gear ratios. Which one is stronger ?
It's very very similar but not very many internals interchangeable I personally feel the w/s/n family is stronger

@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 can you elaborate? Are you saying you can turn a 545rfe into a 66rfe by replacing the internals??
My 04, same model, today, started slipping, 5 and 6 gear. The code reader read PO734, 4th gear ratio error, PO700 transmission control system
Question after a full rebuild on a 66rfe 2018 2500 do you need to reprogram it ?
you need to do a quick learn not reprogram
I have this model transmission in my 2017 2500 4x2, anything to keep in mind with them?
Absolutely first thing service with proper fluid. If your doing an overhaul I can give some major parts tips if you'd like.
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 I do appreciate your knowledge. My transmission works fine, I just never owned a RAM.👍
All good man and that's good to hear
Out put Shaft size for that 66 rfe
What size is the output shaft
