Thank you. I do know that I am incoherent on many of the videos and camera work could be improved a lot but it is hard to see if the subject is in focus or even in the frame on the small screen. Once I see the video on a large computer screen it is usually too late to re-shoot the video without dismantling the player and this is just too time consuming.

What happened to the end of the video? The drive belt is that standard and replaceable? I've emailed Roksan to see if they would service my player and the answer is no, too old. Now if this company was SUGDEN the difference is they would say yes, they can still repair equipment from the 60s.

Video is cut off at the end, becauseI ran out of battery power, but given I have said everything that I had to say, I decided to leave it the way it was.
Another reason why Roksan don't want to service it, is that it is a pig to work on. I must have spent a week trying to get it to work and only at the end, I have worked out what needed to be done to make it reliable (and forgotten it since, so would have to work it out again). The owner seeing how much hassle it was, decided not to do that final work on the second, back up unit.
He used to be a distributor in Malaysia and his transports were worked on by 3 other workshops on 2 continents without success. It is simply not commercially viable.
So I happens that I have - from him - a couple of spare boards. Lasers are available, so if the unit is complete and the motor opening the CD cover works well, I should be able to fix it. But I would not even start without $1000 deposit. It just takes so long without proper rig with ribbon (and other) cable extensions.

Do you think it worth to be fixed?

Indeed it is. I liked Roksan ROK -DP1 better but the owner of the Attessa (who used to be Roksan distributor in Malaysia) swears by it. He also has another one which needs further fixing but it is so time consuming, that we have postponed it... till further notice ;-)

Too true. But in this case the real problem was the crumbled gear underneath others and not visible without dismantling. Not totally destroyed but just missing few teeth.
