Making use of electrolytic capacitor at pin no. 9 of Ic may cause detoriation of frequency during elongated time span due to frequent charge discharge of capacitor. So this has to be decided if precise timings are required.
Your step by step progressive circuit making in all of your projects is very nice and unique. Long back (about 20 years) i made 4060 based timer which served the purposes. But the only drawback is that it has no display to see the time remaining at any point of time. For that I made the arduino based timer.

May I offer a suggestion? Instead of saying “after that”, say “then”. I think it sounds more natural and relaxed. This is just my opinion though.

What is "EN" on the 3 pin terminal?
Connect EN to Ground ... This will keep Pin No. 12 connected to Ground Via 1 K ohm resistor ... It is required to keep built in oscilator to oscillate ... But when Push Button is pressed the Pin No 12 will be connected momentarily to +positive supply and counter Resets & begin counting again ... My opinion! Thanks
