Thank you Rabbi. This role in getting all internal divisions to disappear makes sense. He did this in his own day and his role model was Moses. He was fiery but ultimately ascended and maybe he did this through unity. 😊 I think Elijah has the heart of a spiritual warrior, who is preparing us for the phase of Moschiach ben Josef in the redemption process.

Messianic expectations reached their peak in the first century because of Daniel's prophecy. Daniel's prophecy is why there is a Two Messiah theory in rabbinic literature. God does not give prophecy to say there will be tarrying. The Messiah never tarried, and tarries not now. The only tarrying happening is the opening of eyes to see the truth.

@@amymasreliez8957 I agree with that. Hosea 5:15 says HaShem left His lair, and then returned to it. The lie is that Messiah tarried from the 1st century til now.

Jesus( on whom be peace) was sent by God to reform the people of Israel of his time according to the prophecies of Prophet Moses and other Israelites prophets. His mission as a Messiah was to reform the people of Israel in the light of Mosaic Law and inform them about the advent of a universal prophet after him. Some humble people of Israel accepted him but mostly rejected him in the area of Jerusalem and especially the arrogant religious leaders of his time. This attitude of Jews of Jesus' time was not unnatural as the history of all prophets have the same story of opposition from their first addressers. They tried to remove him from their way by making false complaints against Jesus to the Roman government. Jesus was a prophet of God Almighty and he always talked about spiritual kingdom but the Jews of his time misrepresented his sayings and had posed him as a rebellion of the Roman government who wanted to become a king of the country. According to Roman government the punishment for a rebel was to hang him on cross for three days to kill him. Jesus was sugessted to had the same punishment. He was put on cross but God Almighty saved him according to his promise that He would be saved to die on cross and later had natural death.
Jews of that time believed that a previous Israelite prophet Elijah (as) had ascended to heaven in his chariot of fire and before the advent of the Messiah, he will descend from heavens in his chariot and prepare the grounds for the advent of Messiah and then the Messiah will appear. So when Jesus(as) made a claim to Messiahship, they rejected him saying we did not see Elijah (as) descending from heavens. When Jesus(as), claimed that John the Baptist (as) is the Promised Elijah (as), Jews insisted that he should have descended from heavens if he was Elijah (as) and so they rejected both Jesus(as) as well as John (as).
The Jews of the time of Jesus(as) were waiting for two figures to appear, a priestly Messiah and a warrior Messiah, a king who would come and deliver Israelite from the bondage of slavery. Lawrence H. Schiffman in his article “Jewish Sectarianism in Second Temple Times” says: “They believed that the coming age would indeed begin with a great war and punishment, yet they saw the leadership of the people in the hands of two Messianic figures. A priestly Messiah would take precedence and re-establish Jerusalem sacrificial cult. Along with him a Dividic Messiah would rule over the re-established temporal kingdom.” Thus when Jesus(as) preached peace and tolerance and non-violence, Jews mocked at him and rejected him.
In the Old Testament there are prophecies about the advent of different four Messiahs who have to appear according to the promise of God Almighty. We should not confuse them with one another as the signs and times of their advent are different and their Missions are different. It seems as the followers of prophet Moses(as) try to apply all these prophecies to one person. Secondly, God Almighty works according to his own plan and send a Reformer on time according to His promise to fulfill the need of the time. It is a fact that the arrival time of the universal Messiah of this age was the middle of 18th century according to the prophecies that are described in the books of all three religions: Judaism Christianity and Islam, and their followers had waited for the advent of the Messiah. God Almighty sent him on time to reform the world. A true lover of God Almighty should follow the plan of God Almighty because He is All-knowing. A Messiah specially for the guidance of the people of Israel had been sent 2000 years ago by God Almighty according to his promise and he was the Son of Mary. He was the last Reformer who was sent to serve Torah and the people of Israel. He had informed his followers; the people of Israel, that soon after him there would be a universal prophet who will complete Law. After the Son of Mary God Almighty stopped to send prophets for the people of Israel.

I am listening carefully, and these are th9ings that have been always taught.. however I want to ask you very respectfully and without any intention to offend or being confrontational...
1.Who is going to announce to us of the coming of Eliyahu?
2.Does this also mean we will have to test if he is a prophet again?
    3. And if once even if We have verified he is Eliyahu, and he does all that it is written that the will do.. We must acknowledge that to be able to accomplish what it is said he will do, he would be without any question the most powerful man AND prophet ever existed even above Moshe, there would be no President or government or military or entity that would be be as even remotely as powerful or influential ... so the question is.. wouldn't a Melech Hamashiach be kind of really superfluous after an Eliyahu Hanavi accomplishing all of that it is written he will?!
    4. How can people honour and respect and listen to Mashiach after all that Eliyahu would have accomplished before him for him... We must admit that it wouldn't be easy for Mashiach to mentor humanity after an Eliyahu Hanavi, not because He wouldn't have more to give, but because it would be hard, likely impossible, for people to let go of Eliyahu before him as he pretty much did the bulk of the impossible task and job.
    5. Is Hashem going to become upset and destroy us if we will not be able to let go of Eliyahu Hanavi for the Melech Hamashiach and void the decree of building the 3rd and final temple?
    6. Why wouldn't Hashem have just made Elyhau the one to have the Mashiach role, given all that he has to accomplish? You must admit that if he accomplishes all it is written he will, it would be way more than enough for a 3rd temple.

      1. Eliyahu will show up himself and announce moshiach. Nobody will need to announce him, because the clothing he will be wearing will be thousands of years old. It will be obvious.
      2. Miracles will be associated with his coming, so there won't be any need to "test" Eliyahu in the sens you're using. We'll know. And with moshiach there will be evidence that is irrefutable and mathematically not possible to have been forged.
