It does sound like it'll be a long tomorrow though. I wonder if there is a significance to that. This song is so sad: realizing the meaninglessness in a relationship where one does not feel it. "Our Latest Number" like it's the end and looking back at what it was: imagining at one time... But no, it was devoid... I get the feeling she's gone. "You go"... This isn't the future we imagined, but regrettable refusal is the reality. I feel the ebb and flow, and I think the connection is more than just a drum beat. I think it's understood people would recognize the connection from the drum beat to "You Go", but that drummer is one of the most creative I've ever heard, so I can't help but think there is some connection and meaning to it. I mean, this isn't AC/DC where every beat is the same lol. Though, I feel like the girl at the end in writing this (or the director speaking through her??) [It is my understanding she is saying something along the lines of "I couldn't convey it well"]. In that, there is ambiguity that language can't clarify: I don't know if I can "convey it well", but we are all interpreters, and I believe any interpretation that can be supported is fair and true. After all, music is the medium that doesn't require a message. While there are relative themes that we can feel together, it's not the artist that creates the meaning, it's the music and we are all just as valid in interpreting that meaning. I think of it like Kahlil Gibran talks about parents and children: they come through you, not from you.
Damn, dude, this was a good analysis. I'm not sure if this helps, but they do say some words in "You Go" during the breakdown. The lyrics go as: Meet me outside See you I want you To go Meet me out (Then he whispers something, which is probably in Japanese). Also, what I realized about your analysis is that you go past the basic sound, but the similar things in both songs. To me, I would've never really put this together, due to how happy You Go seems, and the downtempo'd-ness of this song. However, whenever I listen to You Go, I imagine it as a song which can be used as a song which goes to a photo album of sorts. Like, memories flow through my head as I listen to this song, like a photo album. So, this goes back to your theory about looking back to the relationship.
I don't why but I feel that same. I just love that part and I thought it was very weird for me to like that part. Nice to see that there are more people that like this part. Also have you listened to the live version they make a variation which I really like maybe you also gonna like it. It's on the 2018 live concert.
Damn, I’ve never fallen in love with a song so quick
I don't know what he's saying, but I felt that
the percusion in the start is the same in "You Go"
