First time racing at Castle Combe! CSCC Tin Tops Peugeot 206 Gti 180

Welcome back to the channel! After a bit of a gap since my last race, I was back racing with Classic Sports Car Club in the Tin Tops series, at Castle Combe. This was my first time ever on the circuit and there was lots to learn with plenty of jeopardy around the lap. I did plenty of RUclips research before the weekend and I'm so glad I did! So many cars in other sessions were making costly mistakes with big contact into the barriers.

I qualified P10 out of 27 and lined up on the inside of the grid, ready for the long run up to the tricky Quarry corner.
I had an electric start, jumping up a few places immediately. After a bit of dicing and a couple of cars hitting trouble after just a few corners I ended up the first lap in P6!
This was the start of 15 minutes of intense defending against Eric Boulton in his O'Dell Fiesta ST which to be fair, was a lot faster than me, I just made it as awkward as I could for him!
I managed to hold on the whole first stint. My Race Pro Dash 2 switched off at the end of lap 2 so I had no data for the rest of the race. A big issue when pitting as that included my speedo!
I would eventually come out of the pits in P6 but finished P5 when Boulton hit trouble on the final lap, bumping me up a position.
A great result and progress made!
