We are so glad you like these videos! 😊 Have you listened to our podcast too?! Here's one of our great episodes: podcast.absolute-dogs.com/761645/11442499-loose-lead-dog-walking-tips-from-the-professionals
Love your videos, love your podcasts. Thank you for everything you are doing. One of our two NBN superstars has a severe shadow obsession which we mostly have control of in the house but would love some top tips and games for when it's sunny outside rather than her not being in the garden when it's sunny and there are shadows. What also then goes wrong is her NBN brother then starts barking to tell her off for doing this. Could you please consider doing an Absolute Dogs podcast or TV show for us owners who struggle with this.
Hi Karen! 😀 You are MOST welcome!! 😘 Aww, bless them! Sounds like you've made tonnes of progress already - superstars!! 🌟 Such a super idea! Any tips on how to cope with a dog who’s completely distracted by smells and the environment? We have an adolescent who Will do all this beautifully in the house, but when we go outside it goes to pot…
Hi Kim, Be sure to check out some of the great solutions in this video! Top Tip 💡: Remember to introduce distractions slowly! The world is very distracting for our doggos, but if we skill them up with games, and re-introduce them to distracting environments when they're ready, we can make it much easier for them.
My dog is too smart - she will put herself in a walk by my side instead of pulling but if I reward for her it's the end of the "game" and she will immediately pull again. So she is training me to feed and reward her as she is picking when she gets the treat... not good.
Hi Shona, Why not try out some proximity games to get your pup WANTING to be by your side 🥰 check out this free video on our RUclips page ruclips.net/video/Oxs8gbQrm6I/видео.html Good luck and keep us posted! 🐶⭐
I have done the sexier than a squirrel course but my dog is just not food motivated at all (even v high value food) - he only loves his ball so we walk with that but he’ll still drop it if he suddenly picks up a scent of a deer, rabbit, pheasant etc etc
Hey Mel, thank you for your comment! Here's a super podcast on how to grow food motivation absolute-dogs.com/picky-pup-or-fussy-fido-solutions-to-a-food-loving-dog/ . And if your dog prefers the ball that works too! We love to set our dogs up for success, sometimes this means working on the skills at home and using management strategies out in the world to maintain great rehearsal. Also using a level of employment while you're in the environment to maintain focus and engagement with you before the scent has a chance to distract😊 As we get more great rehearsal and less rehearsal of the unwanted behavior our dogs start to choose the desired choices. They are creatures of efficiency - what they do today, they will do more of tomorrow. The more we guide them to the desired choices the stronger their neural pathways become towards that desired choice.
