Most of the time, I use the "cut behind and turn" and also there is another fake shot to cut-in from the MIDDLE of the field. I called it as "diagonal fake shot". The effectiveness is, you will no need to turn your body completely and this will keep your momentum. Just need to execute the fake shot diagonally into the strong foot. Also I want to add about your "quick stop". After the quick stop near the opponent player, you can straight double touch because the animation will give you a huge boost into forward and left your opponent.
