I like to think that since he was actually just a normal Mario once who tried to make his virtual world come to life like how Nintendo wanted it to, however the amount of power it took eventually caused him to split into pieces and now his console is forever cursed.

@@foxonrye they didn't swap them at all. Mighty isn't in role of Sonic, and Sonic himself, along with his friends, exist completely normally. It's just that, when creating D-side version of Sonic.exe, they decided to make creepy version of Mighty instead of Sonic, but this doesn't change anything at all
@@ibis03I thought it was like Normal Sonic, except with some of the cast still there. Like, Fang, Ray and Mighty were just a team like Chaotix and just show up sometimes. Same for the rest of team Dynamite or whatever it's called.

While yes, both VirtualROM and Mr. V are very similar entities being in virtual boy, they are both different: Mr. V waits for victims to enter his domain to drive their minds into insanity, much like Horror Mario but minus the insanity part. VirtualROM, on the other hand wants to live alone in his world, and doesn't want people entering his world, being the opposite of Horror Mario. He'd force his trespassers to leave if they dont let him live in peace.
