He said in a previous interview that his kids liked the books, so when he was asked to audition he did so because he wanted to connect more to his kids. They, however, felt more embarrassed than anything. That’s why he took the role. Which I think is sweet.
@@bethrose190 I didn’t know that! That just goes to show what class act he is. He took a role that he knew was beneath him for his kids. What a lovely thing that is.
That... diabolic... laugh... *gasp, fails to breathe* AaaaaahHAAAAaaaWAAAHAAA Yeah. It haunts my nightmares too. Very frightening. Everyone in the theatre fell off their seats dying. Of horror. Sure. You rock, Michael Sheen. I really want that as a ringtone now.
Robin Lillian the film is just bad? At least in this persons opinion. Probably because of the questionable script and kinda cringy acting/makeup. no one said anything about homosexuality or heterosexual relationships? We all know plenty of amazing movies about straight relationships. What are you on about ahaha
@@robinlillian9471have you seen titanic?! Thats an awesome heterosexual romance. But with twilight, no matter how much I love it, it really is not that perfect. Also there are tons of cringy homosexual romance. Seriously there are many just don't be lazy to look through.
"Mostly though, I always thought of Aro as someone who believes to be a dolphin, and that he cannot stay in the same universe as Edward and Bella without constantly being stoned. Or maybe I projected too much of myself on my role in that regard. So I thought he'd probably laugh like a stoned asthmatic dolphin at absolutely nothing. The director told me to stop making quacking noises and read the line I was supposed to say, and I told him 'fuck you, I'm Michael Sheen, you think you know better than me?'. You know what they say: 'get kicked off the movie or fail, having tried your hardest'."
I would marry the holy goddamn fuck out of Sheen. He clearly hates this franchise so much and was just trolling everybody. He actually started out doing great work on this character but clearly let it all go with Part II because he realized he could get away with giving the goofiest performance.
Haha the laugh scene was hilarious! The cinema was so quiet and you could tell everybody was trying to hold back their own laughs, until I couldn't hold it anymore which caused a sort of chain reaction! Best part.
I kept looking at Aro's eyes throughout the movie and thinking that the red contact lenses that Michael had to wear had to be so uncomfortable. Then I find out that his entire visible eyeball was covered by a lens!
The ending was i n s a n e. Your minds going to be blown when you watch it. I didn't even know how to react in the theatre, I didn't want people to think I was crazy.
The sweet voice and unhinged laughter were inspired by the Chief Blue Meanie character in the Beatles "Yellow Submarine." The blue meanie is like a hyperactive very animated Aro. He speaks calmly and sweetly, but unbridled insanity and rage bubble just beneath the surface until it's too much and he bursts into maniacal laughter. The blue meanie's laugh can be heard on YT vids. I love that Michael took inspiration from that character, the Meanie is such a hidden gem.
Aro was afraid of Bella, that's why he recanted his intentions in the book. Edward tells Bella at the end of Breaking Dawn that Aro was "deathly" afraid of her and was worried that, had a battle broken out, his guards powers would have been blocked by Bella and it would have resulted in the death of (very likely) the majority of the Volturi. It was a risk he wasn't willing to take as he didn't want to lose any "power"--if Stephenie Meyer continues, that can be the premise: hunting Bella.
When Michael talks about long-loved vamps seeing everything and doing everything. That is the problem with the Volturi. They stay at the castle and going nowhere and doing little outside. THAT is what drove Aro mad.
I only watch twilight for the lulz, but it is jam packed! I almost passed out laughing after hearing creeper dude's laugh! "Hye haaaaaah!" 8D man, I died!
When I went, my friends and I absolutely DIED when he laughed. But we were actually wetting ourselves because the people in front of us decided to mimic him REALLY loudly and everyone was just freaking out. :D
I shouted that too, and just kind of stared with my mouth wide-open. I thought I was going to be sick lol. It was a good laugh after we found out the truth though. The whole theater was shouting back at the screen during the "battle." Good times.
When she said "Can you set up the scene?" I thought she was going to say "Can you re-do the laugh for me right here, right now?" hahaha. And I love Michael's explanation of his stupid-ass laugh in the movie. 'Cause I thought it was just unnecessary in the movie. But now I get it.
DON'T SPOIL ITT!!!! ahhh that got me and everyone else in the theater!! we all flipped out then starting clapping when we realized!! no spoils!! that was the best part of the movie!
Awh Michael is so cute^^ And his laugh was so ... idk so cuteeee ;D Haha^^ I love the movie so if you don't watched it already. Just do it. It is so awesome. I want to see the movie again ^^
I'm not gonna be the one to spoil the twist. it was so crazy. I secretly hope they were secretly filming audiences reactions because it would be hilarious to see! I know my own jaw was dropped for at least one full minute and then it just got worse and worse and sadder and too much to handle. I screamed WHAT THE HELL?!? out loud more than once. The whole theatre did. Wow.
Never has an actor been so above a film and role in the history of Hollywood.
Totally agree.
He said in a previous interview that his kids liked the books, so when he was asked to audition he did so because he wanted to connect more to his kids. They, however, felt more embarrassed than anything. That’s why he took the role. Which I think is sweet.

I like the subtext running through the interview of "we both know this film is so bad it's hilarious."
So if it's a homosexual romance, it must be a high quality show, but if it's a heterosexual romance, it's "so bad". So hypocritical.

Aro's laugh :I was sitting there.. _barbeque sauce on my titties_
The audience: *is in a red tracksuit and falls on the floor laughing*
Michael Sheen deserves an oscar.! He's the man.
His laugh is my new ringtone.
I laughed like a hyena when I heard his laugh during the movie. I still do. Good God this man is a genius!

Yeah thats not true at all his daughter loved this books and he actuslly wanted to do it

wow. michael talks so differently comparing to when he plays aro. i guess that's being in character for ya! :)
the laugh he uses just works amazingly. but anyways, it so weird to see him with a mustache and his curly hair.
okay I was hoping he do that laugh.
Michael sheen was the only character in the whole "saga".
the twist made me shout WHAT?! really loud in the cinema and i just started crying i was sooo gobsmacked !!!
Voldemort's laugh has some competition now!
Wow great answer it makes complete sense, and you can see he found depth in his character
My favorite actor from the movie! He scared me so much!
What a fantastic actor Michael Sheen is, he nailed the part!!!!! Loved the movie:)

I was so happy when it was not reality. It was a downer when Aro died.

OMG NO WAY 😂😂😂😂😂
Lucian was one of his greatest roles
He looks like Will Ferrell off anchorman lol.
Obviously, what she meant was that she was "haunted" by his "diabolical" laugh.
That noise.. he made...in part 2.. was the best part of the film. It was sooooo goood! I laughed my butt off!
Yes I definitely agree, the more you know the book the more surprising the twist becomes.
my reaction was pretty close to that! our whole theater starting clapping cuz it was sooo good!!!! aro's laugh made me and my freind laugh soooo much!
When he did that laugh at first I was like wtf then I listened to it again and died 😂😂😂😂😂
