Great overview - I have a lot of Axis gear and had the same issue trying to work out what works and what suits me. I agreed with everything you said, so this is a very good quick intro to the range without getting too deep into the minutia. For anyone watching don't be put off by choice because as you improve you have a ton of options to try and don't need to change manufacturer.

My Axis png 1150/460/short red fuse/ 82 alu mast is an absolute gem of a foil.

Hey there, I’m intermediate and thinking of buying a short fuse BSC 970 set up. What’s a good intermediate back wing? Thanks

Nice Review of the Axis Foil Line-up. When will you review the new ART 1099?

Those don’t get into the states til the end of this month. There were one or two samples floating around the states but we haven’t seen it yet. Stoked to try it out.

    Any advantages over Armstrong?

Hmm. Rode some back to back and that footage will come out soon in our test videos. Really quite different. Armstrong is a much lighter weight more premium product. So rig to rig, the Armstrong wins but it is a bunch more expensive than the all aluminum Axis. Compared to the carbon Axis, the Armstrong wins because it doesn’t have a heavy aluminum fuse that you need to grease the bolts on. No corrosion on armstrong is awesome too. Armstrong comes with all the bags and covers stock as well.
Wing comparison is two different rides and feels. Armstrong is a smoother, faster, quicker turning and quieter ride with neutral pressure on both feet. Axis you can ride a smaller foil for similar lift, more front foot pressure and have a slower more predictable feel. Both have stand out foils in their ranges. Really depends your price point, your ability level and what you will be doing with it.
My favorite Armstrongs are HS1550v2 and HA925. Favorite Axis are HPS880 and 930.

@@REALmattnuzzo Hi Matt, thanks for your video.Very helpful.
But what do you think about the Armstrong 1550v2/925 after that time. Your post is now 8 months old compared to the AXIS foils?
