Never has there ever been a rapper whose complete work was full of uncompromising quality. Hell, he was the master of compromising the differences between underground and mainstream rap into combining it with the most massive rap album I think there ever has been. People think his themes aren't diverse or single minded but are really missing the point of his ability of lyricism which is a reflection of all of his life influences, I find that to be the core of rap's stigma. The amount of subtle cultural references in his lyrics is mindblowing if you ever get the time to read anything of his on Genius its always a place to learn something.

2Pac was super jelouse of kid. I mean jealous as a muthafucka. He thought he could take Big from Puff and make Big a Thug Life artist. The love he showed Big. He used it against him, that's a fake friend. Big was the culmination of every New York rapper. Big was everything without the good looks. 2Pac didn't reach his level of success without trying to damage Big.

4:39 notice how he isn’t giving us some stupid answer, none of that “I grinded my way here and if I can do it then so can you” which isn’t the whole story, there are many other variables and factors involved to becoming as a successful and rich as big. He told us straight up, he said it’s hard work and persistence but I also got lucky because of who I knew and what they could do for me at the time.
